Obituary: LOIS JOHNSON was born in Henderson, Texas, on 20, 1939. She was the daughter of Clea Byron Johnson and Ruth Hoyl Johnson. She had one sibling, an older brother named Bill. The family later moved to Tyler, Texas. Lois attended John Tyler High School and later graduated from North Texas State University with a Bachelors Degree in Business Administration. At the age of 16 she gave her first piano concert to outstanding reviews. She is an avid lover of all kinds of music, from classic and show tune to country and pop. graduation from college, she got married and then worked as a secretary to help put her husband through law school. At the age of 22, she gave birth to their daughter (Cindy). She worked as a transcriptionist for a court reporter and then as a legal secretary at her husbands Houston law firm during their 14-year marriage. Lois continued her career in the legal field working as a Legal Secretary/Office Manager for other Houston-area attorneys. She held her last position for 36 years until she retired in 2008. While working as an Office Manager, she met a young engineer named Charlie who had also been previously married and who had 2 small children (Michael and Kirstin). Lois & Charlie were inseparable for over 37 years. now have 5 grandchildren ranging in age from 27 to 7: Christopher, Marisa, Cooper, Kaitlin & Brayden. Lois was an outdoors person. She instilled a love of nature in her children & grandchildren. At an early age she would take them on nature walks or reasure hunts in the neighborhood. Then later there would be trips to zoos and wildlife parks and, as they grew older, week-end expeditions to the beach or overnight camping trips which became cherished memories. Short visits to MawMaws house would always find garden work to be done. Somehow Lois still found time to go on intimate vacations with Charlie, such as hot air balloon rides in Napa Valley; exploring the pyramids in Cozumel; swimming with the dolphins in Acapulco; camping at Fossil Rim Wildlife refuge in Glen Rose; or white water canoeing on the Guadalupe. Beautiful things such as flowers, seashells and smooth shiny rocks always required her closer inspection. Lois was known for her beautiful blue eyes. She never met an animal she didn love, except maybe her grandsons Boa Constrictor. Currently she had one dog, named Abby. Lois LOVED all things chocolate. But more than anything, Lois loved Charlie, and Charlie loved Lois. Lois passed gently into the night 30, 2015, in Sugar Land, Texas, at the age of 75 years. Lois is survived by her husband, Charles Forrest Booher; brother, Bill Johnson; and children (including spouses): Cynthia Lynn Nations-Garcia, Luis Garcia, Charles Michael Booher, Joanne Booher, Kirstin Booher Wilson and Brent Wilson. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Christopher Lee Garcia Nations; Marisa Lynn Garcia Nations; Cooper Forrest Wilson; Kaitlin Elizabeth Wilson; and Brayden Michael Booher. Additionally, she is survived by a niece, Kathy Howard, and a nephew, Keith Johnson, spouses, Chris Howard and Vivian Johnson, and their sons Brandon and Landon Howard, and Kurt and Kelton Johnson. Friends are invited to a visitation with the family from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, , 4, 2015, at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, 15015 Southwest Freeway, Sugar Land (Williams Trace Exit). Services will be held at 1:00 PM, , 5, 2015, in the Morrow Chapel at The Settegast-Kopf Co. @ Sugar Creek, with Dr. Thomas Wilson, officiating. Interment will follow at Calvary Hill , 21723 Aldine-Westfield Road, Humble, TX 77338. |
