Obituary: JoAnn Bond, 70, went to be with her Lord on 19 after an 18-month battle with pancreatic cancer. Beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, JoAnn brought sparkle to our lives and warmed us with her gentle smile and infectious spirit. JoAnn looked for the good in everyone, was gracious to all, and a loyal, loving friend. Her generosity was unparalleled. She fiercely loved her family and friends. JoAnn had too many best friends to count, and kept up with them all, near and far. The only child of Kathleen and Jerre Elliott, JoAnn grew up blocks away from her parents little hardware store on Maple Ave. She graduated from North Dallas HS, where she was known for her beautiful singing voice. JoAnn pledged Alpha Phi, earned her BFA in interior design at the U. of North Texas, and met her love of a lifetime, Charlie Bond. JoAnn worked for Braniff and Elliotts Hardware before her children came along. A devoted mother, JoAnn volunteered at her childrens schools, led a Blue Bird group, and was a tireless T-ball and soccer mom. JoAnn delighted in sharing her talents with others. She was a natural leader and believed anything was possible. A gifted artist, she always had a creative project (or three) going on. JoAnn was active for many years in the Civic League, where she originated the annual Holiday Tour. JoAnn absolutely loved Christmas; she decorated houses and Christmas trees for the tour until last year. She was also the founding president of the Friends of the Farmers Branch Historical Park. JoAnn is survived by her devoted husband of 45 years, Charlie, children Michael Bond, Andrea Bond, and son-in-law David Spencer; granddaughters Eden and Lola Bond; and numerous friends whom she considered her extended family. A memorial celebration of JoAnns life will be held Tues., Dec. 29, 2:00 p.m., at Sparkman-Hillcrest. Obituary: Glenda Bond, 90, passed away peacefully morning, 5 at Crestview Assisted Living. A celebration of Glendas life will be held at 11:00 a.m. at Memorial Chapel in Bryan. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home. A private family interment will be held at Bryan City . Glenda was born 22, 1924 in Decatur, Texas and was the daughter of Glen and Ray (Matheson) Rieger. Glenda was a longtime member of The Womans Club and was very active in her school class at Central Baptist Church of Bryan. Her true ministry was in her home. She was a devout Christian and friend who greeted anyone who entered her home with warmth and kindness. She was always there for family and friends to offer a helping hand in times of need. One of her passions was attending weekend garage sales with her dear friends. Her sparkling personality was one of her greatest attributes. She had a gracious spirit that made everyone who came in contact with her feel better after being in her presence. Glenda is preceded in death by her parents; her brother, George Rieger; and lastly her husband of 65 years, Reuben Bond. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, Johnny and Dianne Bond, Glen and Amy Bond; daughter and son-in-law, Merrill and Roy Kirkpatrick; grandchildren, Brent Bond, Wesley and Michelle Bond, Matthew and Shawna Bond, Ashley and Jason Bolfing, Amy and Jon Fisher; five great-grandchildren, Katelyn and Logan Bond, Jackson and Will Fisher, and Emma Bolfing; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. The family would like to thank the staff and caregivers at Crestview Assisted Living and Compassionate Hospice for the care they gave to Glenda.
