Obituary: services for Lawrence H. (Larry) Boggs, 85, of Levelland will be at 2:00 pm, , 20, 2010 at First United Methodist Church, Levelland with Rev. Rusty Dickerson, pastor and Rev. Archie Echols of Lubbock, officiating. Burial will follow in City of Levelland under direction of George Price , Levelland. He died , 16, 2010 in Levelland. Born to Ernest Henderson and Myrtle Lee Boggs on 23, 1925 in Pilot Point, Texas, he and his family moved to Levelland when he was two years old. He graduated from Levelland High School. Larry served in the U. S. Navy aboard a supply ship during World War II. He married Norma Brasick on 24, 1954 in Levelland. She preceded him in death in 1994. He worked for AMOCO Production for many years, retiring as a CO 2 Techician in 1986. He was a longtime member of the First United Methodist Church, Levelland. Obituary: Grapevine -- Juanita J. Boggs, 86 years, passed away , 1, 2011 from complications due to kidney failure. Service: A funeral mass will be held at 10 a.m. at St. Ritas Catholic Church at 5550 E. Lancaster in Ft. Worth, with interment to follow at Lakeview Memorial Gardens at 3:30 p.m. , 5000 West Harrison Road Longview, TX 75604. There will be a visitation , 3 from 6-8 pm at the Shannon Rose Hill Chapel at 7301 E. Lancaster in Ft. Worth. Memorial donations can be made to the Alzheimers Association. She was born 25, 1925 in Crowley, LA to Richard and Annie Wilkins and was the youngest of six children. She graduated from Crowley High in 1940 and married James (Scotty) Boggs of Crowley, LA on 24, 1946. She was a wife and mother for most of her life but in 1968 started Lillies and Lace Bridal. It began in her converted garage and grew to being one of the first businesses to open on the then newly opened Loop 281. Juanita lived in Longview, TX from 1962 until 2002 when she moved to Ft. Worth after the death of her husband. She was preceded in death by her husband of 66 years, Scotty Boggs and her son-in-law Ian Jardine. Survivors: She is survived by her daughters Susan Jardine of Hurst, TX and Anne Bryant of Bartonville, TX, Son-in-law Tim Bryant, grandsons James Jardine and Colin Jardine of Ft. Obituary: Johnny Fred Boggs was born on 25, 1934 in Stephville, Texas to the parents of Ray and Claudia Boggs. Johnny was second born out of four children. Johnny left us to be with our Heavenly Father on 21, 2017. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Reba V. Boggs of Sugar Land, TX., daughter Dana L. Kennemer of East Bernard, TX., and his grandchildren; Paige & Kenneth Whitehead, Mark Whiteford, Dallas Kennemer, and Amber Kennemer. He is preceded in death by his parents Ray and Claudia Boggs, brother Donald Boggs, sisters Claudean Warren and Brenda Boggs, and his infant daughter Susan Boggs. At the age of 18 Johnny joined the Marines where he served 4 years in the Korean war. His Commanding Officer wanted him to stay and make a career in the Marines, but Johnny had other dreams. He majored in chemistry and minored in math. He attended Sul Ross State University in Alpine, Texas. two semesters, he was awarded a teaching fellowship to teach chemistry laboratory 101 and 102 (basic). During his second year he was inducted into the Gamma Sigma Epsilon Honor Society. He made the honor roll 5 of his 6 semesters of college. He was also elected as the person most likely to succeed of his senior class. He was awarded a teaching fellowship at Texas Tech University, Lubbock, Texas, to work on his masters degree in chemistry. Johnny then went on to work in the Oil field business. He was in the oil field business for over 40 years where he was known as the Mud Man. He owned his own company, Old Soldier Ltd, where he was very successful. He was an avid member of the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo for 20 years. During his time at the Houston Livestock Show and Rodeo Johnny was a member on the swine committee, and later became a director on the board of directors. He was a man of many accomplishment in his life. Johnnys family would like to thank all friends & family for your thoughts, prayers, messages, flowers, and visits. He loved every one that came into his life. Johnny Fred Boggss services will be as follows: His viewing will be on 26th, 2017 at Earthman Southwest from 10am-12pm. Followed by his funeral service at First United Methodist Church in Sugar Land from 1pm-2pm, and his burial service will be held at Forrest Park at 3pm. The family will have refreshments at the Boggs residence afterwards. |
