Obituary: Barbara Blanchard (Hastey), 81, of Lubbock, Texas went to be with her Lord Jesus on 16, 2014. She was born in Quitaque, Texas on 25, 1932 to Sam Ennis Hastey and Easter Elizabeth Guffey. She married C.H Choc Blanchard on 27, 1947 and was blessed with 4 sons. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Choc and her sisters Jane, Mae and nephew Douglas. She is survived by her brother Joe Hastey of Sweetwater, Texas, her 4 sons, Larry and wife Karen of Alpharetta, Georgia, Layne and wife Bonnie of San Antonio, Texas, Lyle and wife Myrna of Ft Worth, Texas and Lance Blanchard. 13 grandchildren loved her as maw maw, Brandon, Stephanie, Clint, Sarah, Meagan, Heather, Chelsea, Rebekah, Eric, Arwen, Mia, Paul and Cruz. She also had 3 great-grandchildren, Benjamin, Eva and Sterling. She will also be missed by her loving nieces Jeanette Pettigrew, Brenda Boydston, Donna Kinsey, Rhonda Robinson, Billie Haynes and Marybeth Hunt; nephews Perry Harrison and Sammy and Kelly Hastey, as well as her life-long friends Leonard and Cleta Husted. was loved and cherished by all who knew her. She spent a long career in PBX before moving on to Banking. retiring she enjoyed Bingo, Judge Joe Brown and visiting her many family and friends. Obituary: Ann Keller Blanchard, 98, died 7, 2011. She was born 2, 1913 at Fort Yellowstone, Wyoming, daughter of Frank Keller and Margaret Murphy Keller. She grew up in Kansas, attended St. Mary of the Woods in Indiana and graduated with honors (Magna Com Laude and Mortar Board) from the University of Arizona with a degree in English. In 1934 she married Robert Moore Blanchard, her dear husband for 66 years. As the granddaughter, daughter, wife and mother of American Army officers, Ann traveled widely, living in the Phillipines, Greece, Italy and Taiwan, as well as many locations in the United States, moving 22 times in her adult life. She was always interested in learning, was adventurous and served well as a cultural Ambassador wherever she went. Having been stationed at Fort Sam Houston, Ann and Bob retired in San Antonio where they both became skilled painters. Ann, a gifted writer, also wrote a memoir entitled, My Life and Times. She is the dearly beloved mother of four children, Bob Blanchard, Margaret Blanchard, Ann Blanchard, Mary Blanchard Bowe, one son-in-law, Robert Bowe, one daughter-in-law, Mary Cardell Blanchard; and three partners, Bernice Mennis, S.B. Sowbel, and Kathy Herrington, She was also the beloved Grandma Central of Robert, Catherine, Patrick, Marguerite, and their spouses: Paula, John, Tracy and Dan; and great grandmother of Amanda and Matt Lubisich; Renee, Taylor, and Kelsey Blanchard; Jake, Jessica and Mike Dertke, as well as mom to her adopted daughters: Margaret Brown, W. Ruth Harris, Susie Hernandez, Isabel Resendez, and Barbara Travis. Throughout her life, Ann was an active supporter of a wide variety of charities, with particular interest in orphanages. She was a skilled athlete enjoying equestrian skills, tennis, basketball, and golf. She was also an avid dog lover. A few years after her husbands death in 1999, Ann moved into the Incarnate Word Retirement Community where her graciousness and kindness were admired and reciprocated. She was known to family and friends for her intelligence, sense of humor, good sportsmanship, tolerance, and caring interest in people. She will be remembered for her wisdom, her love, her devotion to her faith, her appreciation of life, her generosity, playfulness and very positive attitude. She believed her life had been particularly blessed and in turn she blessed her family and friends with a special radiance. Her family is grateful for all the good care, particularly Sisters ,that she received toward the end of her long interesting life. Obituary: Madge Josephine Zimmerman LeBlanc passed away peacefully , 18, 2016 at 4:15 PM at the Memorial Hermann Hospice facility in Houston, Texas. services will be held on , 11, 2016 at an 11:00 AM Mass at St. Patrick Catholic Church in Lafayette, Louisiana. The church will be open for visitation for 2 hours prior to mass. Interment will be immediately after the service at the Calvary in Lafayette. She was born in Nina, Louisiana on 24, 1920, and married Lawrence Malin LeBlanc in 1935. had one daughter together, Yvette. Around 1954 Madge became a sales clerk in the fabric department of Heymanns Department Store, where she enjoyed working with the public for approximately 35 years until her retirement. At age 78 she moved to Houston with her daughter to be with her grandchildren. She is survived by one daughter, Yvette LeBlanc Bienvenu; four grandchildren , Kevin Eugene Bienvenu and wife Laurette, Louise Bienvenu Comeaux and husband Marcus, Jeanne Bienvenu Allain and husband Stephen Moe, and Rene Simon Bienvenu and wife Maquelle; and 8 great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her parents Elie and Delores Bechon Zimmerman, an infant grandson, an infant great-grandson and her brother, Aurelien im Zimmerman, whose family was like her own. Very much a people person, Madge knew and was loved by many people of all ages. Her extreme friendliness helped her accumulate a very large extended family, to whom she was known as Mimi or Aunt Madge. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent in her name to the Carmelite monastery in Lafayette, Louisiana. |
