Obituary: Barbara Bell Wroten Blacketer was born on 14, 1930, close to Georgetown, Louisiana. She was one of five girls born to Hudson and Viola Bowman Wroten. She lived 82 1/2 years on the earth and was escorted back to heaven on Easter afternoon, 31, 2013, by the Lord, a Calvary of Light, and the sound of ringing bells from earth and heaven. She is survived by her lifes love and husband of almost 60 years, Jack R. Blacketer of Richardson, Texas, and five daughters: Gail Wallace, Kathie Turner, Terry Hockenbrough, Kim Burton and Alisa Law. She is also survived by sons in law Jeff Wallace, Dean Turner, Mike Burton and Ron Law. And she is survived by and lives on in her beloved grandchildren and great-grandchildren: Jon and Rosalyn Wallace, Kalea and Matt McCloud, Brandon Turner, Tana Turner, Collin and Bianca Turner, Macy Turner, Maren Hockenbrough, Jared and Whitney Hockenbrough, Jessica Hall, Kathryn Burton, Benjamin Law, Adryan Law, Michelle Law, Kara Law, and Danielle Law, Stacey and Donny Murphy, Ryan and Katie Law, Dawn and Chris Dean. And great grandchildren: Seth Turner, Adain Turner, Evie Wallace, Bailyn McCloud and MacKenzie McCloud. She is also survived by a sister, Cyndi McClendon, as well as a host of dear cousins, friends and neighbors. We called her "Mom", Moma, Baba, Precious, Darlin. While so many tributes pay homage to achievements, we rise up and call her Blessed and pay homage to her heart and spirit, for that was the power of her life that empowered ours. Barbara Blacketer was a woman of grace, dignity, beauty, love and strength. She brought laughter wherever she went and life to whoever she was with. She was a believer in Jesus Christ and in the glorious reality of Heaven. As a nurse, a mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, she lived her life caring for and serving others, helping those in need, bringing joy to every day, and nurturing life in those she knew and loved. Everyone loved her gentility, generosity, humor, and healing touch. She loved the outdoors, hiking, camping, gardening, cooking, and being with her family. Always welcoming new adventures, she endeared her grandchildren to her with her ability to relate and connect and join in the fun wherever she was. She was an artist and saw beauty everywhere, capturing it on canvass and imprinting it in the hearts of those who love her. She braved and fought a valiant battle for more time with her family, and throughout the fight took each possible moment to tell us of her love. We now truly believe that time never ends, nor does love, nor does life abundant for all who believe! She is our Precious and we ask the Lord to bless her and keep her and make His face shine upon her! And until that day when we all hug and laugh again in Perfect Love, we vow to honor her and keep her close in our hearts and souls and spirits, for she is only a breath away. Friends and family are invited to join the family on evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Sparkman at 1029 S. Greenville Ave. in Richardson. A memorial service to celebrate her life of love will be held on afternoon, 3, 2013 at 2 p.m. at the Waterview Church of Christ in Richardson, Texas. |
