Obituary: James K Biggs Sr., 109, a long time Dallas resident of Monticello West, died on May 6, 2012. Born on 5, 1902 in San Marcos, TX, he was a dedicated, active 85 year Mason, the longest serving Mason in Texas history. James was a member of York Rite, Scottish Rite, Eastern Star and the Shrine. James was also a member of HiIlcrest Lodge Dallas and Waltrip Lodge in Houston. A lifelong Christian, James was a member of Highland Park Presbyterian Church, a loving father, grandfather, great grandfather and devoted husband of 58 years to Beatrice Coker, who preceded him in death.

Survived by James K. Biggs, Jr. & wife Jane, Houston; Ray Biggs, San Antonio; Pat Davenport, Dallas; Davenport, Plano, grandchildren: Ken Biggs & wife Cis, Austin; Katherine & Sean McMahon, Dallas; great grandchildren: Summer and Sierra Biggs, Austin; and Cassidy McMahon, Dallas.

Honorary pallbearers: James K. Biggs, Jr., Ray Biggs, Ken Biggs, Davenport,
Sean McMahon, Leonard Pierce, Elmer Murphy and Scott Brosi.

Services will be held on , May 9, 2012 at 2:00 pm at Sparkman Hillcrest Northwest Hwy Chapel with visitation from 1:00-2:00 pm. MSGT USAF (Ret.) James Milton Biggs, Jr. passed from this world at the age of 71 on 22, 2014. He was preceded in death by his grandparents, mother Mozelle Johnson, father James Milton Biggs, Sr., son James Brian Biggs, brother John Gary Biggs, sisters Linda Malone and Sheri Claborn, brother-in-law Lee Roy Gaylor, and mother-in-law Emma Boartz.

He is survived by his wife of 53 years Renee Biggs, daughter Kimberly Biggs, grandchildren Cassidy Biggs, Sarah Biggs, and Meagan De La Cruz, sister and brother-in-law Becky and Bobby Laden, aunt and uncle Thelma and Jim Biggs, son-in-law William Waclawczyk, sister-in-law Linda Gaylor, brother-in-law Dee Tate, step mother Eutha (Pee Wee) Biggs, sister-in- law Paula Biggs, one great-grandson and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

James was born 19, 1942 and lived most of his childhood in Kilgore, Texas before he moved to Hobbs, New Mexico to live with his Aunt Thelma and Uncle Jim. He graduated from Hobbs HIgh School and joined the Air Force in 1960. He retired from the Air Force as a Vietnam Veteran in 1980. He worked in the Civil Service at Randolph AFB, Texas until his retirement.


He spent his years after retirement gardening, keeping his yard immaculate, listening to his favorite C&W music, watching classic movies, and taking care of the deer in the greenbelt next to the house.

He will be remembered by his friends and family as a big fan of Nascar, the UT Longhorns, Cowboys and Spurs. He will also be remembered as a caring person who could always be counted on in a crises. He was called Jimmy by his buddies, Pug by the Biggs family, Papa by his grandchildren, but his wife called him James from the first day they met in high school.

May the Lord bless and keep James, Jimmy, Pug, Dad, and Papa in His loving arms and grant him eternal peace in His grace.

Obituary: Gordon Duff Biggs, Dude, was born on 18th, 1918 and died on 11th, 2014. He was predeceased by his parents, Wallie Krueger and James Biggs, and his older brother, James Biggs Jr. Gordon is survived by his loving wife Nancy, of almost 51 years, and his son Gordon Duff Biggs Jr. He is also survived and loved by many additional family members and friends. A true Texan by birth, and for his lifetime, Gordon willingly shared his many life adventures with any willing listener. He lived a Huck Finn like childhood, served as an Army Air Corp bomber pilot instructor during World War II, enjoyed a stint in Hollywood, and traveled the world, from Mason, TX to Australia, experiencing life in a way that most people only dream of. Gordon went on to become a founding partner in the iconic Bun n Barrel Drive-In, a saddle bronc and bull rider in rodeo competitions, hands on rancher, and successful breeder of race horses. retiring, he and Nancy settled in Blanco, TX for the last 31 years of his life, where Gordon enjoyed the hill country, its people, landscapes, and wildlife. He knew no strangers and enjoyed visiting with the locals at the Bowling Alley Café. Gordon will always be remembered for his willingness to help others, in a quiet and generous way. He had great faith in God and was thankful for his many blessings. While it is impossible to detail the full scope of his 96 years, please take time to joyfully acknowledge and rejoice in the life of Gordon Biggs. A memorial service for family will be held at a later date. Commemorative gifts can be sent to St. Ferdinands Catholic Church Building Fund; Blanco, TX.

Obituary: Glenn Biggs was born in a small ranching community near San Angelo to Ben and Clara Stucke Biggs on 10, 1932 and went to his Heavenly home on May 26, 2015. He was preceded in death by his parents, his older sister, Earlene Rhodes and younger brother, Joe Biggs. Glenn graduated from Eldorado High School. He attended Baylor University where he later served as chairman of the Board of Regents. There, he met the love of his life, Ann Carolyn Dendy. were married 29, 1955 in Memphis,Tennessee.

leaving Baylor, Glenn joined the Abilene Chamber of Commerce, beginning his involvement in economic development and community service. His association with J.C. Hunter, Abilene oil man and owner of a large West Texas ranch, lead to the promotion and sale of the 78,000 acre Guadalupe Mountain Ranch to become the Guadalupe Mountain National Park in 1966. Glenn received an Honorary Doctorate degree from Hardin-Simmons University. Dealing with the political aspects of the Park became the next step in his career. He became the Administrative Assistant to the Speaker of the Texas House of Representatives, Ben Barnes. In 1970, Glenn moved to San Antonio and served as Chairman and major shareholder of First National Bank of San Antonio. The bank was sold to InterFirst Bank which eventually became Bank of America.

During the gas crisis, Glenn served on San Antonios City Public Service board from 1974-1987, serving as chairman for seven years and helping to negotiate a settlement with South Texas Nuclear Project providing lower energy cost, from which we all benefit today! In the early 1990s, Glenn joined a consortium to try to bring High Speed Rail to Texas- TGV--- a great idea whose time had not yet come.

his active role in banking in San Antonio, he and partners, Jack Griggs and Steve Mack purchased several community banks culminating with Texas Heritage Bank in Boerne and Leon Springs.

Glenn served on numerous boards including InterFirst Corp., Central and Southwest Corp. (AEP), Valero Energy, Diamond Shamrock R&M, Bolivian Power, Tecnicas Reunidas of Madrid, Spain, National Western Life Insurance, Zachry , Kansas Gas and Electric, and the Lady Bird Johnson Wildflower . He was on the advisory boards and a Trustee of Southwest Research Institute, University of Texas at San Antonio, UT Science and Morningside Ministries. Glenn loved the Lord with all his heart and was an active member of First Baptist Church. In addition to Ann, his loving wife of almost 60 years, Glenn is survived by his two sons, Barry Biggs (Sakkara) and Brian Biggs (Melinda), his adoring grandchildren, Courtney, Katherine, Caroline and Barrett Biggs, his aunt, Lillie Burger, brother-in-law, Don Dendy (LouAnn) and sister-in-law, Marty Hinson (Floy), and numerous nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank Glenns loving caregivers, Sandy Forrester, Heidi Pierre and the caring staff at Colonial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to UT Science San Antonio, the Alzheimers Association, First Baptist Church or the charity of your choice.
