Obituary: The world lost and heaven gained a great man on , Dec. 9, 2016, when Lester Warren Biggers, 87, died at his home in Bedford.

Celebration of life: His life will be celebrated at 10 a.m. at Bluebonnet Hills .

Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations in his name should be directed to either the Union Gospel Mission in Fort Worth or the Bedford Public Library.

Lester was born Nov. 5, 1929, in Webb, Miss., to Henry and Vida Biggers and was the oldest of their three sons. His brother, Jack, lives in Bedford and his brother, Aaron, lives in Baton Rouge, La., with his wife, Ann.

Lester and Mary Biggers were married Dec. 6, 1952, in Webb, Miss. were married for 64 years and had four beautiful children: Claire, Lou, John and Susan. started their family in Webb, Miss., and also raised them in Jackson, Miss., San Antonio, Fort Worth, and Berkeley Heights, N.J., before moving to Bedford. He had six grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Lester served in the U.S. Army from 1950 to 1952. He worked for the United States Post Office as a postal inspector and retired 8, 1983. He later went on to sell real estate at Century 21.

He was a friend to everybody he met. His family adored him, his wisdom, and his jokes dearly. He taught us how to follow our moral compass and do the right thing. He was a very funny and helpful person. He was charitable and gave to improve his community. He volunteered at hospice. He glorified our creator by being the light. He could also bake like nobody's business.

The world is a better place because he was here. He will be deeply missed and remembered fondly.

Obituary: John Alex Biggers, 89, of Lake Jackson, TX passed away on 30, 2017.
John Alex John Daddy was born to Millie White Biggers and Eugenia Sue Allen on May 30, 1928 in Fort Worth, Texas.
John Biggers enlisted in the Navy and trained as a fighter pilot at Pensacola Florida from 1945 to 1946 as the U.S. military reduced forces following WWII.
John worked for 34 years as a safety engineer in the chemical industry for Dow Chemical. He was influential in developing Dows process safety program. He helped develop many of Dows safety programs such as the Life is Fragile, Handle with program, which established safety awareness as a way of life at Dow. He served on the Texas Chemical Council and worked at both the state and federal levels to bring about sensible but safe regulations for the chemical industry.
During the great depression (mid-1930s) Johns boyhood family moved to Piedmont, Texas near Navasota where John learned the farm life, and was tutored by his grandmother. Subsequently, they moved to Fort Worth where John graduated from Fort Worth Polytechnic High School. graduation, John immediately enlisted in the Navy. During his Navy time, John entered Navy sponsored college at Baylor University, Texas Weslayan, and completed his Bachelor of Science at University of Houston. He joined the Boy Scouts of America as a Professional Boy Scouts Executive for Houston, Texas where he met the love of his life, Esther Majorie Hall. were married in 1950 and had four children, and resided in Lake Jackson, Texas for 61 years. Outside of Dow Chemical, John excercised a strong Christian faith as exemplified through activities as School teaching, attending church activities, and witnessing for Christ. One of Johns real passions was raising cattle with his son John Jr. ran a cattle operation on the family ranch in Pennington, Texas near Crockett (which will be carried on by his son John Jr). Another interest John enjoyed was traveling with his wife Esther Marjorie (also known as Sunny Honey the Clown). John and his wife traveled to dig bones which is researching ancestral history.
John Biggers is preceded in death by his spouse Esther Marjorie (deceased in 2015); a son Horace Edwin (deceased in 2013); sisters Milliegene Davis, Francis Dedman, Jackie Smith, and a brother M. W. (Bud) Biggers.
John Biggers is survived by his sister Marie Schiefen; son John A. Biggers, Jr; daughter Barbara Krenek (married to Ron Krenek); daughter Deborah Smith (married to David Smith); grandchildren Jay Krenek, Christina Krenek, Bethany (Buzzy) Krenek, Nathan Smith, Rebecca Lopez; Matthew Smith; and great-grandchildren Violet Smith, Peyton Wilson, Lauryn Wilson, and Madyson Lopez.
Serving as pallbearers are grandson Nathan Smith, great-grandson Peyton Wilson, son-in-law Ron Krenek, dear friend of many years, Coach Bo Landers; nephew Gary Biggers; and Franklin L. Hurta (Tiny the Clown)
Honorary pallbearer is grandson Matthew Smith.
Visitation will be held at Restwood on 7, 2017 from 6:00pm- 8:00pm.
service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson on 8, 2017 at 10:00am, followed by the graveside service.

Obituary: John Cramer Biggers went to be with his Lord on 1, 2012. He died at home after a long and courageous battle with cancer. John was born in Dallas on 11, 1931 at Florence Nightingale Hospital. He graduated from Highland Park High School and Southern Methodist University with both his Bachelor Degree and his Law Degree in 1955. He was a member of Delta Chi Fraternity. He then joined the United States Air Force and served at Walker Air Base in Roswell, NM and was stationed as a JAG officer at Brise Norton Air Base in England. Upon his return he joined the law firm of Biggers, Baker, Lloyd and Carver which was founded by his father in 1923 in Dallas. John Cramer Biggers was a faithful member of Highland Park United Methodist Church where he was the President of the Administrative Board and a Charter Member and Founder of the Wesleyan Fellowship Bible Class. He generously supported numerous and meaningful causes including Wesley Rankin, The Salvation Army and The Dallas Arboretum. John served on the Executive Board of the Dedman School of Law at Southern Methodist University. He was elected to the American of Trust and Estate Council (ACTEC). He was a past President and member of the Dallas Executive Association and Cebolla River Ranches. He was also a member of The Dallas Bar Association, The Dallas Country Club and The Dallas Petroleum Club. John loved the outdoors where he could hunt and fish with family, friends and especially the Dove Group, making memories we all will cherish. He started skiing at the age of 50 and passed on his love of the sport skiing with his children, grandchildren and friends. John was preceded in death by his parents, Virginia Miles and Dallas Cleburne Biggers and his first wife Rosalynn Leggett Biggers. John is survived by his wife, Lynn Ripley Biggers, his three children: daughter Rebecca Lynn Biggers; son Stephen Biggers, wife Barbara and her son Brad; son Ted Biggers, wife Kathryn and three grandsons, William, Bradfield and Huntington. He also leaves behind his sister Susan Adams and her husband Paul and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and a lifetime of friends. The family extends their grateful appreciation to Lupe Rodriguez for her devotion to the family for over thirty years and to Norris Cooley for his loving care of John these past months. A Memorial Service will be held at Highland Park United Methodist Church on , Feb. 3, 2012 at 4:00 p.m. Rev. Bill Smith and Johns nephew, Rev. James Leggett of Grace Fellowship United Methodist Church in Katy, TX will officiate. Private interment at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
