Obituary: Lydia G. Betancourt, age 79, of Leander, Texas passed away peacefully with her loving family by her side, on , 25, 2015. Her family is heartbroken, yet they rejoice knowing that she has joined her Heavenly Father in eternity. A time of visitation for family and friends will be held from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on , 28, 2015 at Ramsey in Georgetown, Texas. Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on , 29, 2015 at RockPointe Church in Leander, Texas. 1070 CR 177, Leander, Texas. Pastor Shayne OBrien will officiate the service. Burial will be held at Bagdad in Leander, immediately following the service. Lydia was born on 22, 1935 in La Villa, Texas to her parents Thomas Garza and Adela (Sierra) Garza. She was the oldest of eleven children growing up in the Garza Household and always kept her family close to her heart. She married Guadalupe Betancourt on 6, 1973. Lydia is best described as a woman who loved the Lord, loved her family, and loved others. She enjoyed worshiping her Lord and Savior, singing hymns in praise, sharing the gospel with others, reading the bible and daily devotionals to establish a close relationship with Jesus, and constantly being in prayer. When it came to her family, she enjoyed cooking authentic Mexican dishes, telling stories of what she had learned through her life experiences, as well as doing any and everything to make those around her happy. Lydias most cherished blessing was being a mother and a grandmother. She would pass time learning new recipes, thumbing through photo albums and pictures, making crafts, and traveling to Mexico to visit her husbands family. Lydia will be greatly missed, yet her memory will continue to live in the hearts of her family and the legacy she leaves behind. Lydia was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter, Diana Hernandez; sister, Mele; and her brother, Noe To cherish her memory, Lydia leaves behind her husband, Lupe Betancourt of Leander, Texas; daughter, Brenda Millering and husband Jeffrey of Leander, Texas; son, Alex Hernandez and wife Maria of Hamilton, Michigan; granddaughters: Hannah Millering, Hailey Millering both of Leander, Texas, Estella Nyhof and husband Matt of Fennville, Michigan, Racquel Nyhof and husband Mitch of Gainesville, Tennessee; grandson, Joell Hernandez and wife Sara of Burnips, Michigan; as well as her sisters: Guadalupe Valencia from Holland, Michigan, Hilda and husband Ruben from Cedar Park, Texas, Susie from Holland, Michigan, Delia Taylor and husband Mark from Zeeland, Michigan; brothers: Pedro and wife Irene of Holland, Michigan, Lee and wife Angie of Hamilton, Michigan, Rey and wife Lupita of Dorr, Michigan, Freddy and wife Viola of Holland, Michigan; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; as well as numerous special nieces and nephews.
