Obituary: Charles Patrick Red Belcher, 89 of Amarillo, died , 26, 2015 Rosary will be said at 6PM on , 29th at Schooler , Brentwood Chapel. mass will be at 10:00 AM on , 30th at St. Thomas the Apostle Catholic Church. Celebrant will be Msgr. Harold Waldow. Burial will be at Llano . Military Honors will be provided by the US Navy. Pat was born 27, 1925 in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma to Jasper Martin and Hazel Mary Belcher. 29, 1942 at the age of seventeen he enlisted in the U.S. Navy. He served his country in WWII on board the USS Vesuvius until his honorable discharge in 1946. He married Eva Marie Medley on 26, 1952. made their home in Amarillo, Texas and together raised three daughters. Red retired from Ben E Keith in 1987. He was a member of St Thomas the Apostle Church and the Knights of Columbus. Pat was an avid golfer, coached and played softball until the age of 82. He celebrated his 88th birthday with his family skydiving. As a proud PaPa he traveled the country attending every grandchilds games and performances and was their greatest supporter. He was preceded in death by his parents and sisters, Colleen and husband Alex Dowley and Florence and husband Heine Devine. Survivors include his wife Eva; daughters, Donna and husband Rick Thomason of Amarillo, Patrice and husband Stephen Branch of Waxahachie, TX, Cindy and husband Terry Osteen of Amarillo; six grandchildren, Robert and wife Christy Thomason, Dr. Lisa OBrien and husband Scott Nelson, Kendra and husband Scott Guerry, Nicholas Osteen all of Amarillo, Christy and husband Jeffrey Weiss of Georgetown, TX, and Katie and husband Brian Kirkpatrick of Culver City, CA; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter. The family would like to thank and express their sincere gratitude to the staff of Amarillo Hospice of the Plains for the care and love they provided our family.
