Obituary: William C. Bill Bedortha, age 76 of Horseshoe Bay Texas, formerly of Austin, surrounded and supported by his loving family that he cherished so much, passed from this life to the next on 11th, during Holy Week. Bill got to celebrate his own Easter just a little early. Bill is survived by his lifelong love and wife of almost 54 years, Mary Kay , and his five children and their spouses, Bill Bedortha ( Kate), Jay Bedortha (Ann), Molly Copa (Tom), Katie Robertson (James) and Christian Bedortha (Wendy) as well as his treasured grandchildren, Shannon, Liam and Jack Bedortha, Dylan James, Elizabeth, John, Joseph and Sarah Bedortha, Charlie, Sam, Will, Mary Grace and Lucy Copa, Mickey, Owen, Colin and Zach Platz, and Chase and Barrett Bedortha. He is also survived by his sister Joan Anonick (Al) and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Originally from Weirton West Virginia, and proud of it his entire life, Bill also made his home in Cleveland, Syracuse N.Y., and finally Austin and Horseshoe Bay for the past 27 years. He absolutely loved his adopted state of Texas and would extol its virtues to anyone he met. Bill was a force of nature. Single-minded, driven, and one of the most loyal and uncompromising people you could ever meet, Bill was also an extremely dedicated and loving family man. Although he was the founder and president of several successful companies, when asked, he would proudly say his greatest accomplishment was his family. Like his father and grandfather before him, one of Bills first jobs was working in the steel mill during the summers. Bill attended Linsly Military Academy and John Carrol University and the years that followed found him as a bar owner, funeral home employee, as well as salesman for various national companies before buying his first company and moving his family to Syracuse N.Y. His entrepreneurial spirit eventually led him to Austin, where he founded Convenience Marketing Network, which he started with himself and his son and grew into a nationally recognized powerhouse with over 100 employees. Bill was a visionary and a pioneer in his field. he retired, Bills legendary work ethic led him to devote countless hours to the Paulist Associates, The Knights of Columbus, St. Vincent DePaul Society, and to spearhead several transformative building projects at St. Paul the Apostle Church. Bill was an accomplished athlete, earning a football scholarship before injury reversed those plans. He was also an avid runner, completing 9 marathons and founding a 15k race in Syracuse. He was also a devoted fan of his childrens and grandchildrens sporting events, often traveling early and late in order to not miss a game. While Bill was a relentless leader who was both loyal and uncompromising, he was also a man of deep faith, with a compassionate nature, who never failed to give someone a second chance, a hand up, or a fresh start. He loved nothing more than a good party, a family gathering or to spend time with friends old and new. He will be missed by many, but touched the lives of many more through his visionary leadership and the hard work of a life well lived. A funeral mass will be celebrated 19, 2017 at 10:30am at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Horseshoe Bay, Texas. Because this is a celebration, we request that you dress appropriately; no black attire and no suits. Obituary: It is with a mixture of sadness and joy that on 11, 2017, Mildred Marie Weber Bednorz left this earth to join her Lord our Savior. She was born 9, 1932 in Victoria to the late Victor H. and Leona Weber. Mildred was the second oldest (first daughter) of 12 children, raised on a farm, with all the associated responsibilities. Mildred graduated from nursing school in Houston, after earning her degree she returned to Victoria working as a registered nurse serving the community for over 40 years. She gave her all too each and every patient, time after time. Mildred was married to Edward Bednorz, or Big Ed, to his sons and friends. Mildred was a true saint in all of her childrens eyes. And many others called her a saint when they learned that she raised six boys. Mildred was dedicated to her Catholic faith and her support of Holy Family Catholic Church where she was a founding member. Mildred spent her final years of life in a rest home, where many of the caregivers expressed such heartfelt regret on her passing. Her tireless giving of herself has made her sons beholden to her forever. She is survived by her six loving sons: Michael, Nick, John, Joe, Robert, and Douglas (her favorite); nine wonderful grandchildren: Scott, Zack, Brett, Jackie, Brandi, Alex, Chance, David, and Ryan; and daughter-in-laws: Christina, Krista, and Nancy. She also leaves behind 11 siblings, a boatload of nieces and nephews, and countless friends whom she touched throughout her full and wonderful life. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents and her beloved husband, Big Ed. We don have the space to write the book needed to list all the ways that our Wife/Mom/Grandma/Sister/Aunt/Friend has touched and influenced our lives. That book would still not be able to describe the depths of affection and love we all hold in our hearts for our beloved Mildred and what she meant to all of us. So with that, we leave her in the hands of the Lord our God and look forward to joining her in the Promised Land. Love you Mom, Your Boys The family will hold a visitation from 6 to 8 pm, , 13, 2017 at Colonial . A rosary will be recited at 9:30 am followed by a Mass at 10:00 am on , 14, 2017 at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Father Albert Yankey officiating. Burial will follow at Coletoville . Obituary: Gail Barbara Bednarz was welcomed into the world on 13, 1938 by her parents, Huber and Dorothy Harrel and her sister Nadeen. She was a devoted wife to her loving husband, Leonard, for 52 years. Gail was the mother of 3 boys; Nicholas (who passed away in childhood), Matthew and Jeffry, both of Dallas. She has 4 grandchildren; Nicholas, Nathaniel, Sophia and London, whom she adored. Gail loved her daughter-in-laws, Adiena and Lauren as if they were her own. Her favorite thing in life was to be surrounded by her family and friends. She loved flowers and the community of Dallas. With the help of her lifelong friend, Virginia McConnell, she battled recent illness with profound grace and dignity. She passed away quietly on the morning of 26, 2011 at her home in Dallas. We will all miss her tremendous warmth and caring spirit. Visitation will be on from 6-8 pm with a memorial service on at noon. Both events will be at Sparkman Hillcrest in Dallas. |
