Obituary: Angie Becker was born 19th, 1947 to Martin and Lorine (Biar) Schneider. On 8th, 2016 the Lord called Angie home to rest. Angies life in the church started at a very early age. It started with her baptism at St. Paul Lutheran in Thorndale. She then attended St. Paul School and became a Lion. Her love for the church and school continued into her adult life, where she joyfully served. She worked on many committees and held many positions. She was head of the finance board, played the organ, active with LWML, was choir director, served on the bereavement committee and so much more. She was always willing and with a smile on her face. Angie also loved sports. You could find her watching or supporting some of her favorite teams: St. Paul Lions, Thorndale Bulldogs/Lady Dogs, or the Texas Aggies. She especially liked football. She looked forward to every football season where she would take her place in the press box as a spotter for the Bulldogs. Angie loved the community and would lend a hand whenever it was needed. She lent her time to many. She helped tabulate scores for the Miss Thorndale Pageant, raised cancer awareness with Relay for Life, hung Christmas lights with the Chamber of Commerce and cooked for many benefits helping people in need. Her community recognized her service to the community with Citizen of the Year in 1976 and 2001. Many of you may remember Angie from her 30 year career at Rodenbeck Farm & Ranch. She loved talking and helping anyone who came in the door. Rodenbecks, Angie went to work for JJT Consulting for 7 years, where she was introduced to computers. In 2003, Angie went to work for Thrall Co-Op. She worked there until she was unable. She made some very dear friends at the Co-Op. As many of you know, one of Angies favorite things was to see if she could beat her sister, Gracie calling into the morning radio station. She wanted to start the morning by wishing her family and friends Happy Birthday or Happy Anniversary. As you can see Angies heart was big. She loved her family, her community and the Lord. She will be deeply missed by many, especially her family. Preceded in death by husband Ronnie Becker; parents Martin and Lorine Schneider; brother Kelton Schneider; brothers-in-law Jerry Becker and Glenn Davis; and nephew Rodney Schneider. Survived by son, Michael Becker; son, Kirk Becker and wife Jami; grandchildren, Macy Becker, MaKenzie and Kade Becker; sister, Gracie Cargill and husband Jimmy ; sisters-in-law, Alice Schneider, Betty Davis, Linda Lugg and husband Dennis, brothers-in-law, Eugene Becker and wife Wilma and Dennis Becker and wife Jane; sister-in-law Shirley Becker; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Visitation will be held on 11th, 2016 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Condra . services will be held on 12th, 2016 at 2:00 pm at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Thorndale. Burial will follow at St. Paul Lutheran . Memorial contributions can be made to St. Paul Lutheran General Fund P.O. Box 369 Thorndale, Tx 76577; Thorndale Ex-Students Association P.O. Obituary: Zella Mae Beck- A Pioneer Womans Life.- Zella Mae (Crissman) Beck was born on 23, 1918 at the family homestead of Austin Frances Crissman and Virgie Mary Crissman (Hamilton). Zella Mae was a true pioneer woman whose ancestors preceeded the American Revolution. Her Pop, Austin, was born in Missouri after his family moved from Southeastern Pennsylvania. Austin met and married Virgie Mary Hamilton on 12, 1906 in Weatherford, Oklahoma and built the homestead place 12 miles south of Hydro, Oklahoma where Zella was born. Zella graduated as salutatorian at Hydro High School in 1934, at the young age of 16. Earlier she completed North Pleasant Valley school where son Allen and daughter Margie also attended. In elementary school, she met Cecil Lamar Beck and later married him on 23, 1937. Cecil Becks ancestors were also pioneers who lived in Southeastern Pennsylvania in Lancaster some 80 miles east of the Crissman family who lived in Blair , Pennsylvania. Both families come from Pennsylvania via different routes to Oklahoma. The Becks via Omaha, Nebraska and the Crissmans vis Missouri. Their firstborn son, Allen, was born in the home of Athel Beck on 19, 1939. Their first daughter Margie Gail was born 3, 1940. Their second daughter, Debra Kaye, was born 19 years later on 1, 1959. Their lifestyle was one of hard work, struggling with the hazards of dust bowl farming, a depression economy and World War II which caused them to seek a better life in California where Zella Mae and her family worked picking cherries, peaches, grapes and cotton; and lived with poor Okies in camps. Zella worked in the Olive cannery until they moved back to Oklahoma live, work and farm the old home place south of Hydro. Drought drove them into debt and caused them to move to Oklahoma City in 1950 where Zella worked in several restaurants, as a fry cook at the Red Feather Café, and was the chief cook at Cheatham furniture, until she hit her gold job as a 20-year assembly line telephone wiring expert with Western Electric which allowed her and Cecil to buy a new brick home in Bethany, Oklahoma for the huge price of $13,500. lived there for many years. Cecil was laid to rest in 1984 and in 1991 Zellas health caused her to move to Duncanville, Texas where she lived with her son Allen and wife Patricia for 6 years until she entered the Brentwood in 1997 where she resided until she passed away peacefully on 21, 2011. Zella is survived by three children: Allen Dale of Duncanville, Texas, Margie Gale of Jeffersonville, Indiana and Debra Kaye of Edmond, Oklahoma. She was loved and baptized at the Agnew Pentecostal Holiness Church and later moved her membership to the Pentecostal Holiness Church in Bethany. She is also survived by her 6 grandchildren: Richard, Angie Sherri, Kristi, Tim and Nikki. One grandchild, Kelli Jo, preceded her passing. She was also grandma to 11 great grandchildren. Zella was also preceded in death by her siblings, O.B. Crissman of Hydro, Oklahoma, Belle Black of Weatherford, Oklahoma, Jesse Turner of Hydro, Oklahoma and Elva Tucker of Hinton, Oklahoma. Zella was a quiet, reserved person who loved spending time with her family, attending church, quilting and going to garage sales. She spent 20 years of her life rising for work at 4:00 a.m. She also worked to keep an immaculate house and loved cooking for her family. She was a loyal wife and mother. She passed away quietly and peacefully like she lived. |
