Obituary: Clifford A. Beaver, a long time Elgin resident, died , 22. He was 86 years old, having been born on 27, 1929. Clifford was born in Groesbeck, Texas. graduation, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served as naval aircraft radio operator for 8 years. He then began a career with the State of Texas. He worked for 32 years as a groundskeeper manager. Among many other state areas, he took special pride in overseeing the lovely grounds of the San Jacinto Battleground Monument, the State Capitol and the Governors Mansion. Clifford counted among his many friends, five sitting governors and former Speaker of the House, Gib Lewis. Clifford was a devout follower of Jesus Christ and served as a deacon at First Baptist Church in Elgin. He is survived by his loving wife Jean, she was the apple of his eye. Their loving life continued until the very last when Clifford peacefully left for his eternal life with God. Other survivors include step son, Bruce Goldston and wife Michelle; a step daughter, Sharon Haney and husband Jerry. There are 5 grandchildren, Matthew and Robert Goldston, Brittney Ross; and Sterling and Hunter Haney along with 6 great grandchildren. He had a firm handshake, a huge smile on this face and an unforgettable laugh. He will be missed. Pallbearers include, Bruce Goldston, Jerry Haney, Sterling Haney, Dan Love, Bill Miller and Bob Schier. Honorary pallbearers are the Mens morning breakfast group from Cedar Valley Baptist Church, Elgin. Visitation will be from 6p-8p on , 27 at Marrs-Jones-Newby , 505 Old Bastrop Highway. services to be held on , 28 at 10:00a also at Marrs-Jones-Newby in Bastrop Private graveside service. under the direction of Marrs-Jones-Newby , Bastrop, TX. |

Obituary: FORT WORTH -- Betty Ann Farmer Beaver, 82, left this life , Jan. 16, 2015. Service: 11 a.m. at Hallmark Baptist Church, 4201 W. Risinger Road, Fort Worth, 76123. Interment: Laurel Land Memorial Park. Visitation: 6 to 8 p.m. at Laurel Land . Betty was born in Cleburne and raised in Fort Worth by her beloved mother, Eunice. She graduated from Paschal High School. She was married to two wonderful men, Kenneth Farmer and Covert Beaver. She lived on Spurgeon street for nearly 60 years. Still knew all her current and former neighbors and remained lifelong friends with the families she raised her boys with, the Spurgeon Street Family. Betty never met a stranger. She was a caring and generous soul to her core. If she called you a friend it was for life. She took people into her heart and shared her love with all who needed it. Betty was dealing with health issues in the past few years, but she didn't miss her beauty shop appointments or eating out. She had an amazing memory for birthdays, never missed a birthday and sent cards to her friends almost daily. Betty always lit up a room. When she was there, you never knew what was going to come out of her mouth. The family wishes to thank Texas Oncology and the Infusion Staff of Baylor of All Saints 7th floor for the wonderful care they provided. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; husbands; and son, Ken. Survivors: She is survived by her sons, Mickey Farmer and wife, Marla, and David Farmer and wife, Susan; three grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren. |
