Obituary: Jewel LaVerne Beasley of McGregor passed away, night, 4, 2009, in Waco at the age of 75. Memorial services will be 10:00 A.M. , 9, 2009, at First United Methodist Church, 500 S. Madison St., McGregor, Texas under the direction of Cole , 1113 West Fifth Street, McGregor with Rev. Lianne Turner officiating. Private inurnment will be in Cox . Visitation will be 6 to 8 P.M. at Cole . Mrs. Beasley was born 6, 1934, in Winchell, Texas, the daughter of the late Luther Barney and Velma (Russell) Vogel. She was reared and educated in Winchell, Texas and was a 1953 graduate of Brooksmith High School in Brooksmith, Texas where she was a cheerleader and played on the basketball team. She later graduated from Draughons Business in Abilene, Texas. On 5, 1954, she married Jerald Randolph Jerry Beasley in Ft. Belvior, Virginia. fifty-two years of marriage, he preceded her in death 17, 2006. During her husbands military career, they lived in California and France. She worked in the insurance industry in San Francisco and at the Austin American Statesman. Longing to return to Texas, she and her family moved to McGregor in 1963. She was a realtor and later was an office administrator for Naler Insurance in McGregor. However, her greatest passion was spent as a loving wife, wonderful mother and compassionate caregiver for her family. LaVerne was an active member of First United Methodist Church where she was a member of the Blanche Turner Circle and served on the bereavement committee. In earlier years, she was a member of Beta Sigma Phi and several bridge clubs. She was currently a member of the Red Hat Club. Throughout her life, she enjoyed cooking, gardening, sewing and caring for her family, assisting with meals-on-wheels and traveling extensively. Survivors include a son Jay Beasley and wife Andrea of Robinson; a daughter, Jill Denman and husband Paul of McKinney; a brother, L.N. Buddy Vogel and wife Betty of Temple; a sister, Sherry Carnes and husband Johnny of Harker Heights; three grandchildren, Angela Marlin and husband Jason, Amber Beasley, Jameson Beasley; two great grandchildren, Jack Marlin, Kenzi Marlin and her beloved dog Maggie. For those desiring, the family has suggested First United Methodist Church, 500 South Madison, McGregor, Texas 76657 for memorial contributions. |

Obituary: Graveside services for Jesse Robert Beasley, 80, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. , May 7, 2015 at the Aldredge , with Bro. D. R. McNaughton officiating. Mr. Beasley was born 7, 1934, the son of the late Vera (Mosley) and Allen Beasley. He passed away on , May 3, 2015, in a local hospital. Mr. Beasley graduated from high school in Orange, he joined the United States Army and served his country with dignity. He retired after serving for 21 years. He enjoyed watching westerns, cartoons and going out to eat with his family. He also loved his dogs. He was a member of Harborlight Church. Survivors include his wife, LaVerne Beasley of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth and Connie Beasley of Louisiana; sons, William Hardin and Ricky Hardin, both of Lufkin; daughters, Barbara Bass, Charlotte Slomba, and Rosie Kervin; daughter and son-in-Law, Mary and Johnny Torres; grandchildren, Mandy Slomba, Patrick and Kerri Slomba, Donald Bass, Tammy Bass, Pricillia Bass, Brandon Moran, Roni Quinn, Kiri and Chet Nance, Jonathan Torres, and Chris Beasley; and 20 great-great grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Mr. Beasley was preceded in death by his brother, Robert Beasley. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. evening at Oakley-Metcalf . Obituary: Jere D. Beasley, age 68, passed away on 31, 2008 in San Antonio, Texas. He was born in Clovis, New Mexico. Jere graduated from Portales High School in 1957. He joined the Army National Guard in New Mexico at the age of 19 and served his country for 22 years separating from the ARNGUS/Texas Branch in 1985. Jeres military and civilian education includes NBC Specialist, Senior NCO, Advance NCO, Combat Engineer Senior Sergeant, NBC Specialist, ADA Operations Sergeant. Jere received his Bachelors of Arts in Business, Math minor from Eastern New Mexico University. His awards and decorations include; Army Reserve Component Achievement Medal, Armed Forces Reserve Medal, 2nd class, NCOPDR w#4, 2nd Class ADA Badge, NMLSM, NMGCM, TFSM, AGIA He was an active member for 15 years of Northern Hills United Methodist Church. Jere was a kind and caring man who gave willingly of himself including NHUMC Food Pantry. A special thanks to the staff of Heartland of San Antonio, Joan Tutor, Bill and Carol Schultz, Karen and Larry Brown for the caring friendship extended to our father since our mother passed away. He was preceded in death by his wife Frances Purcell Beasley of 40 years in 2000; mother Aldean Rhyne Mills; father, Clarence Dean Beasley; sister, Lela Faye Rhyne; brother, William Mills. He is survived by his daughter, Barbara Beasley Rendon and husband Leo and their three children, Mikhail, Marissa and Matthew; son, Paul D. Beasley; brother, Jimmie Beasley and wife Jeanne.
