Obituary: services for Mattie Belle Bartlett, 87, of Midland, Texas and formerly of Smyer, Texas will be 2:00 pm, , 23, 2011 at First United Methodist Church of Levelland with Rev. Wendell Horn, pastor, officiating. Entombment will be in Resthaven Mausoleum, Lubbock, Texas. The family will receive visitors at the funeral home on , 22, 2011 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. She died , 19, 2011 in Midland, Texas. Mattie was born on May 10, 1923 in Bonham, Texas to Wesley and Grace Miller Farmer. She married Rodney Eugene Kelly in 1942 and he preceded her in death in1944. She later married Troy Bartlett in 1945. He died in 1994. Mattie graduated from Bonham High School in Bonham, Texas and attended Texas Womens University before going to work for the United States Government as a Civil Servant for the next forty or so years. Matties first posting with the Federal Government was at Perrin Air Force Base in Sherman, Texas and then she moved to Reese Air Force Base, Lubbock, Texas as the Procurement Officer in 1953, a post she held until her retirement in 1977.Mattie was very active with the Order of the Eastern Star, holding most offices including, Worthy Matron. She was also quite active in the Senior Activities of Smyer, Texas, including the building of the Senior in that community. Mattie was an active member of the First United Methodist Church, Levelland until her move to the nursing home in Midland, Texas in 2005. One of her most passionate avocations was attending the Texas Tech Lady Raiders Basketball games and she rarely missed a game until she became physically unable to attend. She is survived by her daughter, Patricia Diane Kelly Steward of Midland, Texas; her grandson: Shane Steward and his wife, Leah, of Lantana, Texas; her great-grandchildren: Chance Robert Steward and Caylee Diane Steward of Lantana, Texas; her sister in law: Wanda Farmer of Lubbock, Texas; nieces: Jenny Cruzan and her husband Phil, Ann Stafford and her husband Jack, all of Lubbock, Texas; her great nieces J. J. Wilson and her husband Mike of Woodrow, Texas, and Marilyn Payne and her husband, Brian of Florida; as well as her great- great nieces and nephew . She is also survived by a host of friends and extended family of choice in the communities of Smyer, Levelland and Lubbock. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Obituary: Mary Margaret Bartlett, age 96, passed form this earth and joined her Savior in Heaven on 3, 2017. Margaret was the only daughter of ten children. Throughout her life, Margaret was dedicated to family, church, and her Lord. She became a Christian at age 14 and she served as a school teacher for 42 years. Margaret helped start a mission church in north Wilmer, Texas, served as a leader in the Baptist Girls Auxiliary and Womens Mission Union for the Dallas Baptist Association for some time, was instrumental in helping to start a senior adult group, the Sonshiners, at Fairview Baptist Church in Grand Prairie, and sang with the senior adult choir, Serendipity, at First Baptist Church in Grand Prairie for several years. Margaret was a member of the Texas Bluebonnet Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She was retired from Sky Chef at American Airlines. Margaret was always faithful to her Lord. She once said What I have been able to do with Gods help has been a great blessing to me and to His glory. I want to serve Him as long as I live, and she certainly did. She will be sorely missed by all who loved her. Margaret is preceded in death by her brothers: Everett, Elvyn, Virgil, Raymond, Weldon and Joe Priddy; 1st husband Ernest Burrow, 2nd husband Fred Bartlett, one grandson, one granddaughter and three great-grandsons. She is survived by her daughters: Lavelle Harris, Merle Brockington, Lee Smith, Judy Hairgrove, Joy Wisener; brothers: Bob, Tom and Bruce Priddy; 7 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, 8 great-great-grandchildren and a large extended family. Obituary: Marvin Marv Lee Bartlett was born 31, 1951. Marvin was the second of 6 children born to Roland G. Bartlett and Pearl M. Rand. As a child he was outgoing, obstinate and hardheaded. He liked to be outside climbing trees and being adventurous. Marvin has lived in Maine and Connecticut as well as Big Spring, TX and Irving, TX. He graduated from Irving High School to become a certified GM Mechanic and self-taught Computer Technician. He was an Advent Christian. Marvin loved to read MAD magazine and his favorite TV show was Along Came Bronson. At one point, MAD did a spoof of Along Came Bronson where Bronson gave his motorcycle an engagement ring. Marvin would have done the same, if he could. Marvin was stubborn, smart, and supportive and worked incredibly hard for his family. He had a devilish grin, a dry sense of humor, and he was much smarter than he let on. He was a gentle soul with a giving spirit who would drop everything for a friend in need. He was loving, sincere and had strong opinions about politics. He loved nothing more than to head out on nights to watch his son Ian play high school football. Marvin was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren and loved them like crazy. were the spark that kept him moving forward. He was an amazing husband and best friend to his wife Michelle. spent 25 years on an incredible journey - good times and bad, they pushed their way through. Marvin worked for Texas Instruments for 25 years and spent his retirement as a commercial mower. He loved to get on his tractor and just start mowing. He enjoyed gun collecting, horses, and riding his Harley. He was a fan of the NY Giants, TX Rangers, Dallas Stars, and Dallas Mavericks. You could always find Marvin sitting at the end of the loveseat playing video games or watching sports. He loved 60s and 70s rock, old style country music, old black and white western movies and John Wayne. His favorite saying was Can push rope and his formula for a happy marriage was Be happy for two in a relationship, not one. Marvin was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Donna, and his brother William. Obituary: Marie T. Bartlett was born 31, 1923 in Patroon, Texas to Mable and Joseph Tillman. She passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family, 2, 2015. She is preceded in death by her husband of 46 years, William Wilson Bill Bartlett; daughter Patricia Bartlett Whitaker; grandson Kevin Whitaker; brothers William Tillman, Leon Tillman, Joe Tillman, and Frank Tillman; and sisters Julia Britain, Betty Woodfin, and Gladys Mathews. She is survived by her sister Naomi Scott; son Bo Bartlett and daugher-in-law Kit Bartlett; grandson Will Bartlett; granddaughter Katie Bartlett Osborne and her husband John Osborne; great-granddaughter Avery Osborne; and numerous nieces and nephews. In her younger years, Marie was an avid bridge player at Riverbend Country Club, and continued playing at The Connection at Memorial Drive United Methodist Church, and with groups of friends. At home, she enjoyed needlepointing, gardening, and most of all, spending time with her family. She was a loving and caring wife, mother, and "Meemaw." Petite in stature, but not in spirit, she was a joy to be around.
