Obituary: Martha R. Barrows, 69, of San Antonio, Texas, joined her heavenly Father 5, 2016. She was born in Beeville, Texas on 14, 1947 to Cyril and Leona Rehm. A devoted wife, mother, Grandmother, sister and friend, Martha showered love on everyone, both family and her dear friends. She graduated from Providence High school in San Antonio and attended San Antonio . She was married to Glyn A. Barrows on 21, 1981. Martha worked for AT&T in various administrative assignments from 1969 to 1998. Marthas first love was her family followed closely by gardening and antique shopping with her sisters. Her many friendships were treasures to her as well. She is survived by her husband of 35 years, Glyn, her three sons, Edward A. Kinsel II, Anthony Joseph Kinsel and Adam Glyn Barrows, her two grandsons, Edward A Kinsel III and Logan Andrew Kinsel, and her two sisters Dorothy Beavers and Sandra Barron. A viewing and Rosary will be held 6:00pm and 7:00PM respectively, 21, 2016 at Sunset , 1701 Austin Highway, San Antonio, Texas. Obituary: Lucy Martin Barrows of Arlington, Texas passed away , 6, 2016 at age 77. She was born 20, 1939 in Chicago, Illinois to Edward and Virginia Loevenhart. Lucy grew up in Highland Park, Illinois where she was graduated from Highland Park High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Education from the University of Arizona at Tucson. It was at the university where she met Thomas Michael Barrows. were married in Tucson 10, 1961. settled in Arlington, where Lucy taught 5th grade at Key Elementary School for 35 years. Lucy served her community as a volunteer for many charitable organizations. She was a founding member of the Junior League of Arlington, and she served as a Stephen Minister for her church. She enjoyed cross-stitching, crafts, and spending time in fellowship with her beloved Prayer Group. Her true joy, however, was spending time with her many, dear friends and her family. She will be remembered best for her compassion, common sense, and laughter. She is survived by her husband, Tom Barrows; daughter, Mary Rutherford Dailey; son, Thom Barrows; grandchildren, Ryan Scot Dailey and Laura-Jane Rutherford Dailey. She also is survived by her sister, Terry Ann Ellicott; and her son-in-law, Scot Dailey and daughter-in-law, Mindy Barrows. A memorial service will be held at 4:00 in the afternoon on , 14th at Grace Lutheran Church, 210 West Park Row Drive, Arlington, Texas 76010. Obituary: Gloria J. Barrows, 87, of 2351 Road 448, Taylor Texas, formerly of Renovo, Pa, passed away peacefully at home on , 25, 2014. Gloria was born on 20, 1927 in Renovo, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late John G. and H. Amelia (Jacobson) Lundfelt. She was married on 26, 1946, in St. Johns Swedish Lutheran Church in Renovo, to Glenn A. Barrows. In addition to her parents and a sister, Florence Mabel Lundfelt, Gloria was predeceased in of 2014 by Glenn, her husband of 67 years. She is survived by two children, G. David Barrows of Renovo and Christina M. (Ron) Marsh of Taylor, Texas and a sister, Martha Peter of Springfield, VA. Gloria was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Taylor, TX. She graduated from Renovo High School in 1945 and Williamsport-Dickinson Junior , now Lycoming , in 1946 with an Associate of Arts having a focus in Stenography. Gloria saw a wide range of experiences in the work force starting in the late 1940s with Eastman Kodak in Rochester, NY and to Include General Electric Co., Piper Aircraft, Lifetime Pools and Montgomery Ward. In the early 1970s she found employment with the Texas Department of where she worked with the Crippled Childrens Division until her retirement in 1988 as a clerical supervisor. Gloria was a loving mother and enjoyed spending time with her family, friends and the company of her dogs, Tiger and Tammy. She was an avid homemaker but would have no hesitation, if asked, to entertain by playing the piano or the organ for all to enjoy. She was the organist for many of the churches in Renovo. On s you would find her playing the piano for some of the young people in Renovo as they received tap dancing instruction in the meeting room at the YMCA. Throughout her life she took great pride in arranging the landscaping of her home and planting her annual flower gardens. She also found great pleasure circling the yard on her riding mower. She would always make the time to appreciate and admire the sunrise and sunset and there are many hours of film and video footage to document it. Gloria impacted the lives of people on many levels. She was often generous beyond her means to many groups and organizations and was especially attentive to the welfare of animals. Tough and independent in matters that meant a great deal to her, Gloria has been referred to as a feisty little firecracker. A funeral service will be held on , 1, 2014 at 11am at Zion Lutheran Church, Renovo, Pa with the Reverend John Harwood officiating. Burial will follow at North Bend . Obituary: Wanda Ruth (Conner) Barrow, daughter of George E. and Lucy D. Conner, was born on 6, 1929 in Ponca City, Oklahoma. The family moved to Placedo, Texas on , 1938. a year and half Barnsdall Oil gave her Daddy a lease out of Bloomington, Texas, where she got to attend the same school for four years without having to move and change schools every year. went back to Placedo where she was put in the eighth grade the last six weeks of her seventh grade. It was the year Texas instituted the 12 year system and each school handled differently. The principal wanted her to be with the same students she was with when leaving in the fourth grade. Placedo only had ten years of school so her Mother sold eggs and paid weekly rent for her to go back to Bloomington School. She graduated as Salutatorian with the Class of 1946. She went to Chillicothe Business in Chillicothe, Missouri on Scholarship. She married Floyd S. Barrow 15, 1946. To this marriage was born two sons, Clyde and Richard and two daughters, Linda and Jeanette. She has seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren. While her children were growing up she served as Sunbeam Leader for First Baptist Church, Alice. She served as Teacher for the three year old department and then moved to the 4 and 5 year old department. She took her turn helping in the nursery for extended service. She was Cub Scout Den Mother for Troop 123, First Baptist Church of Alice, and then served as their secretary. She kept score for the Little League Baseball Games. She helped the girls with their cookie sales and fund raising projects in Bluebirds and Campfire Girls. She served as president of the Toastmistress Club in Alice. She returned to work for the City of Alice, Utility Department 26, 1969. She served as Secretary to the Director of Public Utilities until he resigned and transferred as Utility Manager for 16 years until her retirement with 26 years service 31, 1995. her retirement she relocated to New Braunfels, where she remained until her death. her move she became active in First Baptist Church, New Braunfels, being in Sonshine Singers, Ukulele Strummers and an officer in her School Class. She joined the AARP Chapter of New Braunfels and was their Secretary for three years. She is predeceased by her parents, brother, John W. Conner and daughter, Linda Rhoades. Surviving her are two sons, Clyde and Richard; daughter, Jeannette and her seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, sister, Georgia Ann Sargent, four nephews and great nephews and great niece. Visitation will begin 5:00 PM at Zoeller and will continue until 8:00 PM. Services will be 10:00 AM , 27, 2015 at First Baptist Church New Braunfels with burial to follow in Comal . |

Obituary: SUGIE WILLIAMS BARROW, 91, passed away peacefully on 20, 2015. She was predeceased by her husband, Justice Charles Wallace Barrow, Sr., and her son, Charles Wallace Barrow, Jr. (Wally). She is survived by her sons John Douglas Barrow and wife Louise of Corpus Christi, David Williams Barrow and wife Irene of Flagstaff, Arizona, and James Hunter Barrow and wife Alison of San Antonio; eight grandchildren: Hunter Denson Barrow of Austin; Lucas Jackson Barrow of Dallas; Justin Colter Barrow of Corpus Christi; Katie Barrow Schneider (Bobby) of Berkeley, California; Henry Galahad Barrow of Berkeley, California; Travis Hunter Barrow (Karen) of Birmingham, Alabama; Scarlette Barrow Moorman (Zack) of San Antonio; and Thomas Charles Barrow of San Antonio, and one great-granddaughter, Breanna Barrow of San Antonio; her sister-in-laws Bea Little (Loftin) of San Antonio; and Linda Williams (Sid III, decd) of Pearsall, Texas; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and their families. Sugie Barrow was born 23, 1923, in Hindes, Texas to Sidney J. Williams, Jr., and Aline Glenn Williams, who were merchants and had ranching interests for many years in the area. Sugie Barrow attended school in Hindes and Charlotte, Texas, and then enrolled at Baylor University in Waco as a pre-med student. It was at Baylor that she met the love of her life, Charlie Barrow, and after their graduation from Baylor in 1943, Sugie declined her acceptance to Baylor School of Medicine to marry the young lawyer and U.S. Navy Ensign Charles Barrow on 25, 1943. For the next 62 years Sugie Barrow faithfully and tirelessly supported her husbands endeavors: engagements in World War II and the Korean conflict, his lifelong duties as a Naval Reservist, as a talented young lawyer, as a District Judge, an Appellate Judge, Texas Supreme Court Justice and Dean of Baylor School of Law. Sugie followed her husband from San Antonio to Newport, Rhode Island and San Francisco during the wartime years, to Onion Creek near Austin during his Supreme Court tenure and to Waco during his stint as a law school dean. Always a learner, Sugie re-enrolled at Baylor University and earned a Masters degree in Religion at age 67. The couple returned to San Antonio after her husbands retirement. Charles declining health brought Sugie the hardest task she ever confronted-moving him out of their house to an Alzheimers unit. There she visited him every day until his death in 2006. While her husband worked hard to advance his career, Sugie worked just as hard as the primary caretaker for their four sons. She was always there for her husband and sons. She provided a strong bond of love in a clean and cozy house, wherever it was located, warm and delicious meals served on schedule, clean clothing and any mending needing done, a sense of discipline and direction in her sons, support and encouragement for their school activities, religious direction and opportunity, and a well rooted system of values. Shortly before her tenth birthday, Sugie professed her faith in Christ at a Baptist revival. She was baptized by immersion the following in a pond in La Parita with her parents looking on. Throughout her life she was active in the Methodist Church she attended. She participated in numerous bible studies, and prayer groups, attended a Walk to Emmaus. She was active in the Bluebird Society and the Order of the Eastern Star and many other organizations. Sugie Barrow was a devoted wife, mother, Christian and friend who will be missed by her family and friends. Memorial Service 26, 2015, at 10:00 a.m., Alamo Heights United Methodist Church, Garden Chapel 825 E. Basse Road San Antonio, TX 78209. The Rev. Donna Strieb officiating. Private interment follows at Texas State , Austin, Texas. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice. |
