Obituary: Louise Barger was born 26, 1923 in Dallas, TX, and passed away May 22, 2015 in Duncanville, TX. Louise gave generously of her time, and she enjoyed teaching School to 4 & 5 year-olds, working in the church library, and also as a volunteer at Doctors Hospital in Dallas. She retired from Collins Radio. Louise was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Cecil R. Barger; her parents, Carl and Rachel Willman; 1 infant great-grandson; 2 sisters; 2 brothers; 1 nephew and 1 niece. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Ashley and husband John; grandchildren, Jo Lynn Clements and husband Ron, Sherry Ashley, Karen Douglas and husband John, and Jason Ashley; great-grandchildren, Richard White, Jason, Jr. and Brendan Ashley, and Carolyn, Jessica, Luke, and Emily Douglas; and great-great-granddaughter, Alexis Cunningham; as well as many extended family members and friends. Services will be held , May 26, 2015 at 2:00 P.M., with Visitation from 12 - 2pm, at Grove Hill , and will be followed by Interment at Grove Hill Memorial Park. Obituary: Irma Ruth Barger enjoyed what life offered during her 95 years, some of which included a long and devoted marriage, raising a family, travelling to and living in many places in the U.S. and around the world, before she passed peacefully into the grace of God on 11, 2015. Irma is survived by her four children, Carol M. Barger and her husband William D. Elliott, Nancy and her husband James Wellendorf of Lancaster, PA, Ellen and her husband Robert Lewis of Garrisonville, VA, and Carol and Conrad A. Barger, Jr. of Franklin, TN, five grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. She was born in Norfolk, VA on 1, 1920, to Julius and Maie Dennis. Irma fell in love with a young Navy man, Conrad A. Coach Barger and they were married May 24, 1940. were blessed with four children, Nancy, Carol, Ellen and Conrad, Jr., known to all as Bud. Coachs 31-year naval career meant he and Irma lived in cities like Key West, FL, and then as the children came along and grew up, home would be Sunnyvale, CA, Corpus Christi, TX, Richmond, VA, Memphis, TN, Providence, RI, back to Norfolk, on to Los Angeles and Hayward, CA, with stops in between, and duty stations in Okinawa and Trinidad. Even though the demands of four children with only six years between them kept Irma very busy, she always loved the adventure of new places. And when Coachs duty station was a ship at sea for up to a year at a time, Irma remained cheerful and upbeat as she raised her children and kept their home. When Coach retired, he and Irma moved to Ft. Worth where they lived for the next 30 years of their 59-year marriage. Following his death in 1999, Irma moved to Nashville, TN, to be near her son and his wife. In 2013, Irma moved to Dallas, to be near her daughter Carol. Irma was a renowned as a seamstress who also loved to read and she often volunteered at the local library. And she was an avid gardener who took great joy and satisfaction in the resulting beauty of her garden. She always had a smile and kind word. Irmas love of adventure and new places continued as she relished some memorable trips with her daughters to New York City, London, Paris, and Trinidad. Irma also held a special place in her heart for Journeys End, Carols husbands ranch situated on the Red River near Sherman, TX. Settling in at the ranch for several weeks at a stretch, Irma would garden and enjoy the quiet, beauty, and peace of nature. Irma did not ask for much, was grateful for what she had, she never made a fuss, and the world and people around her are better because of her. Obituary: Born on 10, 1928 in Teague, Texas, Herbert Herb Glenn Barger entered the presence of the Lord at 10:00 a.m. on 13, 2016. As the son of a country preacher and farmer, William Mitchell Barger, and a loving mother, Climmie Sartor Barger, Herb developed a strong work ethic from his earliest childhood days. In addition to working on the farm, he participated in basketball and 4H activities during his school days, where he also met the love of his life, Bonnie Dell Sandifer. Telling the story of how he would wink at her in class to make her smile, his eyes would always twinkle, as his love for her only grew stronger through the years. married at a young age, and they followed oilfield work in south Texas for several years. Soon their family began to grow, as Ronnie was born, followed by Brenda five years later, and Debbie seven years after that. Deciding they needed to have more stability for the children, Herb and Bonnie brought their family to the Houston area where they made their home. Herb joined the outside sales staff of the Houston Chronicle where his quick smile and winning personality helped him achieve immediate success. He later managed his favorite Miss Classified team, and rose through the ranks of his professional organization, ANCAM, ultimately serving as President of the organization in 1985. He retired from The Chronicle as Director of Classified Advertising. Herb was an unashamed Christian serving as a Deacon in several Baptist churches, including Little Rock, Royalwood, Spring Forest, and North Woods. He always greeted his church family with a warm smile and a hug or handshake and was ever ready to serve in a variety of leadership positions through the years. To this humble servant, it was not a religious statement-it was simply how he lived his life. Herbs passion was his farm in Teague, Texas where through the years he raised cattle and taught the grandchildren how to ride horses, drive a nail into a fencepost, and dig for potatoes. He loved relaxing there with family and friends as much as he enjoyed the constant work involved in maintaining a second home. He never met a project he couldn conquer, and he passed those skills along to anyone who wanted to learn. The family wants to thank the many kind and compassionate caregivers at both Parsons House and Encompass & Hospice. Herb is survived by Bonnie, his loving wife of 69 years, and his devoted children, Ronnie and wife Cindy, Brenda and husband Chris, and Debbie and husband Brian. His five grandchildren, Jimmy, Jeff, Kristina, Kelly, and Lauren, and six great-grandchildren, Lillian, Krystal, Erik, Kymberli, Caline, and Daniel, brought great joy to his life. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings r and Gracie. He has three surviving siblings, Opal, W.C., and Orval.
