Obituary: Richard Lee Barbee, 85, passed away May 18 in Station, Texas. service will be 11:00 a.m. , May 23, at Millican United Methodist Church with Rev. Peggy Hines officiating. Interment will follow, with a military service at Memorial of Station. Visitation will be held for one hour, prior to service time at the church. Richard was born May 12, 1930 in Glouster, Ohio, the son of Lewis and Clara (Brandon) Barbee. His younger years were spent playing along the Muskingum River and playing center in the Frazeysburg High School, State Championship Basketball Team. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. his service in the military he went to college, and completing his courses, he took a job with Buckeye Pipeline. He retired after 25 years of service, relocating to South Florida and going into partnership with a petroleum sales, service and equipment company. He retired at the age of 62 and became a ranger for numerous golf courses in Ft Lauderdale & Palm Bay, Florida and then Miramont Club in Station. He then retired again at the age of 82. Richard had a love for adventure, traveling, fishing, golfing and woodworking. Richard is preceded in death by his parents; and a sister, Eloise Hanes. He is survived by his loving wife and friend of 64 years, Rachel Barbee; son and daughter-in-law, Robert L. and Susan Barbee; daughter and son-in-law, Sandra Diane and Robert Miller; grandchildren, Angela Miller LaGuardia and husband David, Lisa Miller, Dr. Rachel Miller Wright and husband Clifford, and Maggie Barbee; great-grandchildren, Christian Robert Powell, Brianna Marie LaGuardia, Audrey Sophia Wright, Kyley Miller and Madeleine Danice Wright. We want to thank Hospice Brazos Valley for giving our Dad, Grandpa and Grandpops the compassionate care they provided. The time that we got to spend with him was better because of their care. Obituary: Katherine Phillip Barbee, loving and devoted Wife, Mother and Grandmother passed away on 6, 2015 in San Antonio, Texas. She was 93. Katherine was born in San Antonio, Texas on 1, 1921, the daughter of Hilmar A. Phillip and Hulda B. Phillip. She was married to Lloyd H. Barbee who predeceased her. She will be greatly missed by son Lloyd Barbee Jr., son James Barbee and spouse Louella, grandchildren Michael Barbee and wife Kim, Stephanie Duke and husband Adam, step-granddaughter Desiree Steller, and great grandchildren Jacob Duke, Haley Duke, and Micaela Barbee. Katherine was a very outgoing person who enjoyed helping others. her sons were grown, she went on to become the administrator of the Sarah Roberts French nursing home. She was a longtime resident of Castle Hills. She enjoyed entertaining at her beautiful home and taking family and friends to restaurants. The family would like to thank Bertha Garcia, and other caretakers, who provided great service. Visitation on , 8th beginning at 5:30 pm with recitation of the Rosary at 6:30 pm at Porter Loring on McCullough. On , 9th Mass of the Resurrection, 1:00 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church, 10703 Wurzbach Road with interment to follow in Mission Burial Park North. |
