Obituary: Wayne S. Baker, 79, passed away , 21, 2011. services will be 3:00p.m., , 25, 2011 at Potosi Methodist Church with Charles Dunnam officiating under the direction of Community Memorial , 1443 N. 2nd St. Wayne was born 10, 1932 to Vivan and Lula (Gage) Baker in Clemscot, Oklahoma. He had lived in Abilene since 1963 and worked for the Social Security Administration for 34 years. He married Elaine Baker on 15, 1977. Wayne was a man of integrity, a fantastic husband, father and grandfather. He had a great sense of humor and loved children. Wayne was a member of the Potosi Methodist Church and had the honor of replacing the stained glass windows of the church. Preceding him in death were his parents; three sisters; and two brothers. Survivors include his wife Elaine of Abilene; three daughters, Julie Wagner and husband, James of Abilene, Tamara Dorwart and husband Ray of Guthrie, OK, and Melissa Collins of Lampasas, TX; his stepson, Randy Spraberry of White Settlement, TX; eleven grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank Hendrick Hospice and Dr. Kalla and his staff. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Potosi Methodist Church. |

Obituary: Warren James Baker, 82, of Gonzales, Texas passed away on , 20, 2015 at his residence. Services are under the direction of Buffington in Gonzales, Texas and will be held on , 27, 2015 at 2:00 pm at Buffington Chapel in Gonzales, Texas. Interment will follow at Moulton City in Moulton, Texas. Visitation will be held on , 26, 2015 from 12:00 noon until 5:00 pm at Buffington in Gonzales, Texas. Warren was born on 8, 1933 in Houston, Texas. He was the son of James and Myrtle (Alexander) Baker. Warren served in the US Navy during the Korean War aboard the USS Brush. While serving our Country, he married Vana Ann Hefner on 12, 1952 at Kashmere Baptist Church in Houston, Texas. He obtained his Masters Degree in Education and was a teacher for Gonzales ISD for 35 years. He also served as the Minister for Moulton Baptist Church in Moulton, Texas. He was a licensed pilot and enjoyed flying air planes. He liked to ride his motorcycle with his club, the Retreads. He enjoyed taking care of his vegetable and flower gardens, and watching birds. He would set up the pool in the summer so the kids could swim. He also raised Honey Bees. Warren is survived by two sons; Warren Baker, Jr. and his wife, Peggy of Monthalia, Texas, John Baker and his wife, Shirley of Harwood, Texas, one daughter; Catherine Swieter and her husband, Eric of Austin, Texas, one sister; Mildred Beaman of Houston, Texas, one brother; Roger Baker of Houston, Texas, four grandchildren, eight great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; James and Myrtle Baker, and an infant daughter; Myrna Lou Baker. Along with many, many nieces and nephews that loved and cared for him deeply. Wade was an amazing son, husband, father, uncle and grandfather. He was a great friend and mentor to many. He was a builder, hunter, protector and all around great guy. But first and foremost he was a devout Christian that served the Lord in every aspect of his life.
