Obituary: Joey Glenn Baker, 65, of Big Spring, Texas entered into eternal peace on , 13, 2015 in San Marcos, Texas. Beloved husband of 25 years to Jill Cunningham - Baker; loving father to Jackson Baker of Austin, Texas; Jarred (Christina) Baker of Buda, Texas; and Jessica (Will) Barrett of Canyon Lake, Texas. Devoted Grandfather to Drew Keaton and Bryson Emory Baker, and Granddaughters Rylan Grace and Camden Bay Barrett. Joey was born in Big Spring, Texas to Robert and Betty Jo Baker on 1, 1949. He attended high school at Big Spring High and he graduated in 1968. He went on to earn an accounting degree at The University of Houston where he played under the legendary football coach Bill Yeoman from 1968 - 1972. In 1971, the Houston Cougars played in the thirteenth edition of the Astro-Bluebonnet Bowl against Colorado. Joey always had a love for cars and would go on to work in the car business for 35+ years. Joey is preceded in death by his father Robert Baker; his mother-in-law Regenia Cunningham; and his father-in-law Roy Cunningham. Joey is survived by his mother Betty Jo Williamson; his brother Bobby (Paula) Baker; as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on , 17, 2015 from 6:00 p.m. - 8:00 p.m., at Cook-Walden/Forest Oaks , 6300 W. William Cannon Drive, Austin, Texas. service will be held at 1:00 p.m., , 18, 2015, at Riverbend Church-Smith Chapel located at 4214 N. Capital of Texas Highway, Austin, Texas with Senior Pastor Ken Baldwin officiating. Obituary: Memorial services for Joe Lynn Baker, 69, of Diboll, will be held at 11:00 a.m. , 26, 2016 at Southside Baptist Church with Bro. Randy Brown officiating. Interment will occur at a later date in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Baker was born 25, 1946 in Dayton, Ohio. He passed away , 22, 2016 at his residence. Mr. Baker was raised in Waltonville, Illinois and moved to Houston, Texas in 1963. He graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Houston in 1964 and then attended the University of Texas. He owned Baker Pest Control for 39 years in Diboll. Joe served in every office for the East Texas Pest Control Association and served on the state board of Texas Pest Control Association. Survivors include his wife of 43-½ years, Sue Rowe Baker; sons, Gregg and wife Sylvia of Owassa, Oklahoma, Bradley and wife Laura of Lubbock, Todd and wife Christine of Golden, Colorado, Sam of Diboll; grandchildren, John and wife Patricia of San Angelo, Cade of Golden, Colorado, Jo Lynn and Walker of Diboll and Caleb of Lubbock; great-grandson, Calvin of San Angelo; brother-in-law, Marvin Rowe and wife Kate of Santa Fe, New Mexico; and several cousins, nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be the Senior Mens Class at Southside Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Joes memory may be made to Diboll Pilot Club for the Scholarship Fund, P. O. Box 384, Diboll, TX 75941. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Southside Baptist Church.
