Obituary: Edward Badouh, Jr. 7, 1945 - 1, 2014 Edward Badouh, Jr., beloved husband, father and friend, went to be with the Lord on 1, 2014. Born in Houston, TX on 7, 1945, and raised in New Braunfels, TX, Eds life was characterized by faith, hard work and selfless giving to others. He will be remembered for his wisdom, quick wit, and love for his family and friends. Ed was a staunch Republican, voracious reader, and a proud Texas Ex. A 1963 graduate from Texas Military Institute, Ed went on to The University of Texas, where he was an enthusiastic member of Sigma Nu fraternity, graduating in 1967. He proceeded to graduate with honors from St. Marys University School of Law in 1970. Never one to be idle, Ed worked in his fathers law office during college, worked for Spoetzle Brewery (Shiner Beer) while attending law school, and was the Director for Houston and San Antonio of Congressman George Bush during his campaign for the United States Senate in 1970. Ed joined his father in 1971, and practiced law in New Braunfels for the next decade. During that time, he was the youngest Municipal Court Judge in the state of Texas, chairman of Tuttle Lumber in San Marcos, and Director of M-Bank in New Braunfels. He went on to be the Chairman of Community Title , Director and Executive Vice President of American Century Corporation, President of Commerce Savings and Loan, Director of First American Financial Corporation, and Chairman of New Braunfels Title . Ed was also primarily involved in Real Estate and Investments for the past 40 years. Amazingly, Ed accomplished all this without ever sending or receiving an email or turning on a computer! Ed generously gave his time and talents to the Gonzales Warm Springs Foundation, for which he served on the board for 40 years, and the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo. Ed married Isabelle Beckwith West in 1980 and had an instant family with three boys. Edward Badouh III (Bo) was born in 1983, turning their family of five into six. Ed was a wonderful, loving father, teaching his four boys by example the values of integrity, hard work and discipline. He loved his family well, giving each person a special nickname and always having time for each of them. Regardless of the situation, Ed had a way of making everyone in his presence feel like the only other person in the room. A lifelong learner, Ed loved to listen, observe people, and ask questions. It has been said that after a conversation with Ed, people had learned things, through the questions he would ask, they didn even know about themselves. Ed Dado adored his seven grandchildren (plus one on the way), calling them all ascals and apscallions. He loved to hold back rub competitions among the grandkids (paying quarters to the winner), tickle the sugar button, and take naps together at the lake or coast. Colorado was a favorite vacation spot, year round, with many memorable ski trips and summers spent getting away from the South Texas heat. Ed also loved spending time at Horseshoe Bay, taking family and friends for leisurely boat rides, and Port Aransas, where he loved to read the newspaper and watch the world go by. Preceded in death by his parents, Edward Badouh, Sr. and Rubylien Barber Badouh, Ed is survived by his wife, Isabelle Baby Girl\; sons Chico West and wife, Shannon, Brad West and wife, y, Ty Doctor, Sheriff West and wife, Jamie, Bo Bobcat Badouh and wife, Caroline; grandchildren Travis, Isabelle, Beck, Drew, John Tyler, Andie West and Edward Badouh IV (Wayo); brother in laws and sister in laws, Jane and Neil England, Van and Tracey Beckwith, Jay and Beth Beckwith, Patti and David Eastman, Bill and Scarlette West, Jim and Martha West, Mitch and Elizabeth West, Randy and Linda West; numerous nieces and nephews, as well as countless friends and his beloved Red Dog. The family would like to thank Eds treasured girls Sherry Haas (37 years) and Becky Hill (27 years) for their dedication. MEMORIAL SERVICE
