Obituary: Mildred Ina Babich passed peacefully into the loving arms of Jesus at the age of 84 on 8, 2015 in Houston, Texas. Millie loved life to the fullest. Her passion was travel, and she visited every continent, including Antarctica, at least once. Her last major trip was just a few years ago on a small boat down the Amazon River. She lived all over our beautiful country, including several times in Alaska, but she was born in Fort Worth, and her heart was always in her Texas roots. During her working life, Millie worked in the oil patch as a personal assistant to the famous wildcatter Michel T. Halbouty. She later became the worlds best legal secretary, retiring from many years of service at Fulbright & Jaworski. In her retirement years, she continued to travel the world. World War II, Millie was married to Graden Harger from 1946 to 1953. had a son, Bill. In 1960, she married George Bittner, who died in 1968. had a daughter, Suzie. In 1970 she married Marko Babich, who passed away in 1992. Since that time, the only man in her life has been Jesus Christ, with whom she presently resides. Millie was a member of Tallowood Baptist Church. She and her sister loved gospel quartet singing, and travelled to many venues (and cruises) listening to their favorite performers. Millie was also active in the Beta Sigma Phi service sorority. She was twice president of Lifeline, a social organization for widows and widowers. She spent most of her retirement years at the Buckingham, where she was a charter resident and frequent spokesperson. Keeping up with Millie was not easy, but it was always worth the ride. Millie was preceded in death by her father, Joe W. Billington, and mother, Ila Gray Billington, of Fort Worth. She is survived by her son William G. Harger and his wife Michel of Sugar Land, Texas, and her daughter Suzie Babich (daughter of George Bittner) of Houston. She is also survived by her sister, Betty Jo Mahlie of Plano, Texas, and nieces Jan Caron of Plano and Nancy Mahlie of Greenville, SC. Her grandchildren are Jennifer Harger of Austin, Sarah Gunter and husband Jared of Sugar Land, Angela Harger of Austin, John Harger and wife Hannah of Sugar Land, and Katherine Harger, also of Sugar Land. Her great grandchildren are Ethan, Grace, Faith, and Thomas Gunter and Ella Brooke, Lexi and Luke Harger, all of Sugar Land.
