Obituary: Dorsey R. Blankenship, 77, of Hixson, went home to be with his Lord on , 04, 2014. Dorsey was born in Hartselle, Alabama and was a longtime resident of the Chattanooga area. He served our country in the United States Navy and was a frogman diver. Dorsey retired from Combustion Engineering with 30 years of service. He was an active member of Soddy Church of Christ. He was preceded in death by a great grandson, Jaxon Pike; parents, Otis and Novel Blankenship. Dorsey is survived by his wife of 41 years, Pat Blankenship; children, Sandy Swindall and Joe (Hazel) McRee; grandchildren, Jeremy (Tracey) McRee, Amber Swindall, Ashley Pike and Adam Swindall; great grandchildren, Payton Pike and Gaebriel Swindall; brothers, Leo (Dot) Blankenship and Glen (Janice) Blankenship; sisters, Vivian Bracken and Evelyn (Harold) Shaneyfelt; many nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 pm on , at the North Chapel. A Service for Dorsey will follow at 2 pm on at the funeral home chapel with Minister William Greer officiating. Burial will follow in Hamilton Memorial Gardens. are by the North Chapel of Chattanooga , Crematory and Florist, 5401 Highway 153, Hixson. |

Obituary: services for Chris Blankenship, 41, will be held at 1 pm on May 7, 2015, at the Carl Perkins Civic with Jon Enochs, Robert McBroom and Greg Gilbreath officiating. Interment will follow in Highland Memorial Gardens. Chris passed away on May 3, 2015 in Jackson, TN. He was born on 22, 1974 in Jackson, TN, the son of Mike and Teresa Blankenship. Chris was a loving father, husband, and son. He died doing what he loved to do. He was a member of Meridian Baptist Church and a member of the Madison Fire Department for ten years. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Royal and Dorothy Blankenship, and by his maternal grandfather, James Adkins. He is survived by his wife, Ashley Chism Blankenship; his daughter, Bailey Elizabeth Blankenship; his son, Michael Chase Blankenship; his parents, Mike and Teresa Blankenship; his mother and father-in-law, Don and Sherry Chism; and his brother-in-law, Chris Chism; and his grandmother, Marie Adkins. Pallbearers to serve are Danny Coley, Steve Gibson, Ronnie Bates, Jeff Robeson, William Casey, Andy Casey, Russell Newman, Carl Haynes, Harold Vann, and Lori Hale. Honorary Pallbearers to serve are Madison Fire Department Firefighters. The family will receive friends on May 6, 2015, from 5-8 pm at Meridian Baptist Church. Memorials may be made to the Vanderbilt Childrens Hospital or The Juvenile Diabetes Foundation in honor of Chris Blankenship. |
