Obituary: David Burdette, Jr. Easley David LaFayette Burdette, Jr., 75, husband of the late Nora Farrell Burdette, passed away , 7, 2014 at Baptist Easley Hospital. Born in Spartanburg, to the late David L. and Catherine Bogan Burdette, he worked as a truck driver and in the machine shop at Red Arrow Products for twelve years but retired from CapsCo. David was a loving fiancé, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and friend who enjoyed fishing and writing poetry. He has had several poems published, as well as put to music. David was a former Vice President of a company, an inventor and lived a life of adventure as a jack of all trades but master of none. He is survived by his fiancé, Patricia Dimsdale; a son, David Michael Burdette (Phyllis), of Greenville; two daughters Tamria Stines (Joseph), of Easley and Nora Jean Dickerson (Billy), of Powdersville; a brother, Floyd M. Burdette (Ruth), of Travelers Rest; three sisters, Dolores Cameron (C.L.), of Stafford, VA, Mary Jo Johnson (Bobby), of Marietta and Sandra Long (Robert), of Fayetteville, NC; his former wife and good friend, Doris Reynolds; eight grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and his shih tzu puppy, Jasper, his little redneck buddy. In addition to his wife and parents, he was predeceased by a sister, Sybil Brown. Memorial services will be 2:00 P.M. , 10, 2014 at Crosswell Apostolic Church. Obituary: Chris Goofy Burdette, 39, husband of Angie Fleming Burdette, died suddenly at his home on , 21, 2014. He was born in Greenwood to Jimmy Ray Tadpole Burdette and the late Melinda Wilson Burdette. Chris was a 1993 graduate of Abbeville High School Class and a graduate of Spartanburg Methodist . He was currently employed with Anderson Transportation and Logistics and a member of Grace United Methodist Church. Chris was a mason and member of Clinton Masonic Lodge #3. He was an avid Clemson Tiger Fan and a dedicated husband, father, son, brother and friend to all. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Walt W. Fleming. Surviving Chris are his wife of 16 years of the home; three children that he adored, Micalyn, Kobe and Ayden; his father, Jimmy R. Obituary: Tommy Ray Burden, 59, husband of Donna Perry Bell Burden, of Calhoun Falls died , 25, 2014 at his home. He was born in Abbeville to Charles S. Burden and the late Betty Jordan Burden. Mr. Burden was a graduate of Calhoun Falls High School. He was medically discharged from the United States Navy after many years of faithful service to his country. While serving, Mr. Burden was a Chief Boatswains Mate; as well as a First Class Navy diver and former Seabee Construction electrician. his discharge from the Navy, Mr. Burden graduated from Trident Technical where he received his RN and BSN. During his nursing career, he worked at the Ralph H. Johnson VA Medical in Charleston and most recently, at the Abbeville . Mr. Burden will be remembered as loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather. In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a brother, Stanley Burden. He is survived by his wife of the home; his father of Calhoun Falls; a son, Justin Charles Burden, and his girlfriend, Michelle Tucker, of Calhoun Falls; a brother, Charles Michael Burden, and his wife, Diane, of Anderson; a sister-in-law, Rita Burden, of Calhoun Falls; a grandson, Dagon Lee; three nieces, Jamie, Jennifer and Michelle Burden; a dear friend, William McCall; and countless extended family and friends. Graveside services will be 2:00PM , 28, 2014 at Forest Lawn Memory Gardens with the Rev. Jerry Dalton officiating. No formal visitation is set, but the family will receive friends at the home, 609 Rice St., and at his fathers home, 526 Jackson St., both in Calhoun Falls.
