Obituary: Nancy Hoernel Bonacum LEXINGTON - Nancy Hoernel Bonacum, 68, passed away on 27, 2015. Born 31, 1946 in Babylon, New York, she was the daughter of the late John and Francis Hoernel. She graduated from Babylon High School and worked at McGraw-Hill in New York before marrying Niel Bonacum on 14, 1965. Nancy and her husband lived in New York, Nevada and Tennessee, finally settling in Pelion and later in Lexington, SC. She worked in Lexington School District One at Pelion Elementary and Lexington High. She was a member of Corpus Christi Catholic Church. Nancy will be remembered most for her amazing cooking skills, her enjoyment of travel (especially as Niels co-pilot), her lovingness as a sister, mother and grandmother, her devotion as a wife, and her ability to light up a room with her smile. She is survived by her loving husband of 49 years, Niel Bonacum of Gilbert, SC; twin daughters, Cynthia (Robert) Taylor of Hickory, NC; Candice (Clint) Escoe and grandchildren, Nathaniel and Grant Escoe of Lexington, SC. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, her sister, Barbara Hoernel Leas, and her daughter Stacey Bonacum. The family gives thanks to loved ones and friends for their gracious support and to the caring medical professionals at The Heritage at Lowman who assisted with Nancys care. A celebratory memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m. on , 7, 2015 at Caughman-Harman , Lexington Chapel, 503 North Lake Drive, Lexington, SC. 29072. Obituary: Horace Leland Bomar, III, 66, passed away , 10, 2015 at Spartanburg Medical after a brief illness. Born 9, 1948, Leland was the son of the late Horace Leland, Jr. and Martha Grier Bomar. A native of Spartanburg, Leland attended Spartanburg City Schools. He was a graduate of Presbyterian and a member of The Kappa Alpha Order. He received his JD Degree from the University of South Carolina and was formerly a partner with Holcombe Bomar, P.A. He was a lifetime member of First Presbyterian Church where he served as a deacon and was also a member and past president of The Spartanburg Kiwanis Club. Leland served on the board of SPACE and recently enjoyed delivering meals for Mobile Meals. He was a graduate of Leadership Spartanburg and was a member of the American Bar Association. Survivors include his beloved wife of 22 years, Halina Holly Burrell Bomar; his children, James Stirling Bomar (Jill) of Atlanta, GA, Martha Grier Bomar (Josh Linder) of Harrisonburg, VA, Ann Bomar Caudle (Lawrence) of Spartanburg, SC, John Stewart Bomar (Kaitlin) and Elizabeth Dorothy Lundeen Bomar, all of Greenville, SC. He is also survived by stepchildren, Halina Joanne Riddle of Greenville, SC, Melody Riddle Clifford (Jared) of Tampa, FL; and grandchildren, Martha Ann Elizabeth Mae Bomar, William George Bomar, Jacob Stirling Linder, and Jude David Linder. In addition to his children and grandchildren, he is survived by his brother, James Grier Bomar (Rebecca) of Spartanburg, SC; sister, Betsy Bomar Littlejohn (Chris) of Greenville, SC; and a number of nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends 5:00-7:00 PM , 11, 2015 at the home at 107 Briarwood Ct., Spartanburg, SC. A memorial service will be conducted at 2:00 PM , 12, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, by The Rev. Dr. Thomas Evans, The Rev. Joanne Hull, and Mr. Robert Bannan.
