Obituary: Ann Kidd Betbeze - A devoted wife, loving mother and a caring friend to many, died , 16, 2011, in her home at the age of 81. She was surrounded by the love of her family and embraced by the grace of God at the time of her death. A graduate of Louisiana State University, she is survived by her husband of 60 years, Claude Betbeze; four children, Jim (Terry) Betbeze, Michael (Ruthie) Betbeze, Benton (Melanie) Betbeze, and Beth (Lillian) Betbeze; two brothers, Albert D. (Rosemary) Kidd and Benton Kidd; seven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her son, Claude Betbeze, Jr.; and her brother, James Kidd. A funeral mass to celebrate Anns life will be held on , 20, 2011, at 12 noon from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. The family will receive friends from 11:00 a.m. until service time at the church. Obituary: Edwin John Den Beste, (Ret), age 68, passed away on , 31, 2015. Ed was a loving husband, father, grandfather and patriot. He lived his life to the fullest and touched everyone he met. His love for his family was surpassed only by his love for the Lord. He was a true man of God who sought to serve Him in every way he could. He was much loved. Edwin graduated from East High School in 1965 and Morningside in 1969, both in Sioux City, Iowa. He was also a 1975 graduate of Pepperdine University, located in Honolulu, Hawaii. Col. Den Beste's military education includes Artillery Officer Candidate School in 1970, Flight School and CH-47 Chinook Transition in 1971, Field Artillery Advanced Course and UH-1 Huey Instructor Training in 1977, United Kingdom Royal Air Force Helicopter Instructor Training in 1979, Command and General Staff in 1984, Air War in 1992 and Inspector General Course in 1995. His military awards and accommodations include the Legion of Merit, Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, Army Achievement Medal, Presidential Unit Citation, Air Force Outstanding Unit Award, National Defense Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon, Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Master Army Aviator Badge and the Artillery Officer Candidate School Hall of Fame. Col. Den Beste is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Elvena Den Beste. He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Den Beste; children, Alicia Den Beste, Christian Den Beste and Ashley Faulkner; siblings, Edgar Den Beste, Eugene Den Beste, Elenor Moore, Edna Meyer and Elaine Fenceroy; grandchildren, Tate Den Beste, Scout Berta, Wes Berta, Davis Faulkner, Morgan Faulkner, Olivia Jane Faulkner and Emory Faulkner. The celebration of Col. Den Beste's life will be at 11am on , 4, 2015 at Southern Heritage in Pelham. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service.
