Obituary: Lovell (Courtney) Bossuyt passed peacefully in her sleep on Nov. 23, 2015, at the age of 95. Lovell was born in Portland, Oregon, and graduated from Jefferson High School in 1937. In 1940 she married James Courtney. Together they raised six children in the Parkrose area. Lovell was an excellent seamstress as well as an excellent cook; her pies were widely known and in high demand. Lovell was very involved in activities with her children at home and at school when they were young and later worked for eight years at the David Douglas School District as the Counselors secretary. Lovell had been an active member of St. Rita Catholic Church since 1952. Although she was on many committees throughout the years, she was especially proud of the vestments and banners she helped make for the church. Sadly, Jim Courtney passed in 1987. In 1991 Lovell married the second love of her life, Earl Bossuyt. had wonderful years together, including travel, before Earl passed in 2005. Lovell is survived by her children Kathleen Powell (Wayne), Douglas Courtney (Pat), David Courtney (Corinne), James Courtney, Philip Courtney (Toby), Matthew Courtney, and step children from her marriage with Earl; Carol Bossuyt, Alan Bossuyt, and Tom Bossuyt (Lee); as well as many grandchildren and great grandchildren. A viewing will be held from 1pm to 7pm on 2, 2015 at Gateway Little Chapel of the Chimes, 1515 NE 106th Avenue, Portland, Oregon. A Rosary will be recited at 10am on , 3, 2015, followed by a 10:30am Mass of Christian burial at St. Rita Catholic Church, 10029 NE Prescott Street, Portland, Oregon. Remembrances may be made to St Rita Catholic Church, St. Vincent DePaul Society or St Rita Handicapped Access Fund. |

Obituary: Wilma Eileen (Sauter) Boss born in 1938 was a longtime resident of North Portland, passed away peacefully in her sleep on 14, 2012. She was born 8, 1938 in Hillsboro, Oregon to Anna Doelling and Bernard Sauter. She moved with her three (3) siblings to the St. Johns area and attended St. Johns Christian Church. She attended James John Grade School and later graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1956. Wilma was involved in a number of organizations/activities at Roosevelt including band, Seiddet, Office staff, fire squad, Teddyettes and Y.F.C. (Youth for Christ). She was most fondly known for being a majorette. As a majorette, she marched in the Rose Festival Grand Floral parade. In 1962, Wilma met Robert (Bob) Boss whom she married. Bob and Wilma shared a loving marriage for over 48 years. began their life together in a home in Portland, Or. Bobs job later transferred them to Springfield, Ohio. In 1965, they welcomed their son Joseph Joey Boss into their lives. Bob and Wilma were homesick for Oregon and they were transferred back to Oregon. In 1970, they welcomed their daughter Barbara Boss (Wright) into the family. Bob and Wilma have resided in their home in North Portland for over 40 plus years. Wilma dedicated her life to taking care of her family. She was a devoted wife and mother. Her family was the most important part of her life. Wilma was an sports fan. Bob and Wilma attended Buckaroo hockey games, watched the Winter Hawks and the Portland Trail Blazers. Wilma joined a weekly bowling league with Bob. Then later joined a company golf league where she won a number of tropheys for her exceptional play. Wilma was very involved in her childrens activities. She enjoyed being a room mother. She baked cupcakes, put together decorations and prepared games for the class parties. She often was the parent chaperone on class field trips to the zoo or OMSI. She volunteered for other school activities to support her children. Wilma absolutely adored her grandchildren. She would spend time putting together puzzles, cooking or simply watching childrens videos with them. She would take them to her sisters farm in Hillsboro while tending to the country store. We have the comfort of knowing Wilma loved each and every one of us. Wilma was a true blessing to all who knew her. The Lord has received Wilma and although we miss her with each passing day, we know that she is in heaven with the Lord. Wilma is survived by her husband Bob Boss; her son Joe Boss (wife Donna); her daughter Barbara Wright (husband William); her grandchildren Schuyler and Philip Boss; her sister Patricia Ogden and brother Richard Sauter. Obituary: Robert John Boss born in 1937 a longtime resident of North Portland, passed away peacefully on 23, 2016. Bob was born on 28, 1937 in Portland, Oregon to parents, Abraham Boss and Martha (Andreen) Boss. He grew up in the Kenton neighborhood from birth to adulthood. The house he lived in with his parents was located in the center of what is now Kenton Park. Rather than demolishing the house, it was moved two city blocks to its current location on Kilpatrick Street. Bob attended Kenton Elementary School and later graduated from Jefferson High School in 1954. Bob went on to attend Portland State University. He was the first person to graduate with a degree in Economics from Portland State. In 1962, Bob met Wilma Eileen Sauter whom he married. Bob and Wilma shared a loving marriage for over 48 years. began their life together in a home in the St. Johns neighborhood of North Portland. Bobs job later transferred them to Springfield, Ohio. In 1965, they welcomed their son Joseph Joey Boss into their lives. sick for Oregon, Bob and Wilma were transferred back to Oregon shortly thereafter. In 1970, they welcomed their daughter Barbara (Boss) Wright into the family. living in the neighborhood of East Moreland in Portland for a short time, Bob and Wilma bought a house in North Portland where they resided for over 40 years. Bob continued to live in the same house until his home going. Bob was in purchasing in the early years of his career at a few places. But he found his calling in manufacturing while working for Bingham Willamette, a large pump company that helped produce the Alaskan pipeline. Soon Bob became the Plant Manufacturing Manager, then he moved into the role of Vice President of Manufacturing. Bob spent about 11 years Bingham Willamette. He left Bingham to work with an old friend at a smaller pump company that made small irrigation and food processing pumps. Bob held a few titles there, sales application engineer, inside sales. But manufacturing was his love. Bob tried to retire a couple times, going back as a consultant mostly. But in 2011 he decided it was time to hang it up and focus on his wife and family. In his spare time, you would find Bob on the banks of the Lewis River or Toutle River in Washington state every doing what he loved - fishing! Bob would be up at four in the morning so that he could be on the river before daybreak. There was a never-ending supply of salmon and steelhead in the Boss house. He would often take his son on his fishing excursions. And when trout season opened, he would take his daughter to Horseshoe Lake in Woodland, Washington to fish. Bob also enjoyed playing golf. A game that he eventually got the entire family to play - a perfect foursome of Bob, Wilma, Joe and Barbara. You could find Bob and his family every afternoon at Delta Park Golf Course (now known as Heron Lakes) for a round of golf. The family played there so frequently, that tee times were often not necessary. The family would show up and the pro shop would find time for them to play. Family vacations were often planned around regional golf courses like Rippling River near Mt. Hood and Black Butte Ranch in Central Oregon. Both Bob and Wilma played in a weekly golf league for a number of years. Bob was an avid sports fan. Both Bob and Wilma frequently attended Buckaroo and Winter Hawk hockey games. Bob spent many evenings watching his beloved Portland Trail Blazers on TV. Calling his son frequently throughout the game to express his enjoyment when the Blazers were winning, frustration with bad officiating and disappointment if the team lost. Wilmas home going in 2012, Bob became even closer to his children and grandchildren. Going to night dinners with his son Joe and grandchildren and night dinners with Barbara and his son-in-law William. Dad met Barbara for lunch every so that he could have his favorite - pan fried oysters. These are cherished times spent with our Dad. We have the comfort of knowing that Dad loved each and every one of us. Dad was a true blessing to all who knew him. The Lord has received Dad and he is now back together again with Mom. Although we miss Dad, we know that he is in heaven and we will see him again one day. Bob is survived by his son Joe Boss of Portland, OR; his daughter and son-in-law Barbara and William Wright of Woodburn, OR; his grandchildren Schuyler and Philip Boss and his great-granddaughter Aubriella Ava of Portland, OR. He was preceded in death by his wife, Wilma Boss; his mother, Martha Boss and his father, Abraham Boss. A memorial service will be held on , 9, 2016 at 1:00p.m. at Lincoln Memorial , 11801 SE Mt.
