Obituary: Obituary Phillip Devlin Bethune was born 30th, 1963 in Portland, Oregon. He was the son of Albert and Clara Bethune. His parents raised him and his siblings, Robert and Clarence in Southeast Portland. On 24th 2010, the Lord called him to his eternal rest and heavenly home. Phillip attended Creston Grade School, and graduated from Franklin High School in 1981. high school, Phillip attended Portland Community , taking general education courses. Phillip had many interest and hobbies. He loved science fiction, trivia, and had an amazing ability to make others laugh. While attending Portland Community , Phillip began to pursue his passion of music. He was an avid record collector and had a passion for entertaining others. He loved music of all genres and could always light up a room. Following community college, Phillip worked for KBOO for over a decade on the Soup and the Spaz Show. The show gave him the opportunity to follow his dream of being a Disc Jockey. Until the time of his passing he was still working as a DJ, and a radio broadcaster. Later in life he gave his life to the Lord, ministering to others as a radio host on KKSL. Phillip spent over a decade working as a program manager, assisting others to facilitate their ministry through radio broadcasting. He also worked the early morning show, delivering a message to thousands each day. Even at Phillips most difficult times, he continued to stay uplifted, encouraging others and holding on to his amazing sense of humor. Phillip was a wonderful son, brother, uncle, cousin, and a very loving friend. Phillip was a good man whose loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Preceding him in death are his father Albert Bethune, and mother Clara Bethune. He is survived by his brothers, Robert Bethune of Portland, Oregon; and Clarence Bethune of Salem, Oregon. Phillip also leaves behind a host of cousins, and very dear friends who are all going to miss him. |

Obituary: Janice “Jan” Bethell passed away peacefully at Samaritan Albany Hospital 6th, 2017 from a sudden stroke. Jan was a full time homemaker living on a small farm and had her hands full raising her 3 boys. Jan’s greatest loves were her family, friends and pets. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, canning, crossword puzzles and sports. Jan loved watching her kids and grandkids participate in sporting events. Her love and compassion impacted those who had the privilege of meeting her. She will be fondly remembered, greatly missed and never forgotten. Janice was born in Hill City, Kansas on 29, 1934 to Wendel Clack and Emma (Desmarteau) Clack. The family moved to Oregon in 1944. Janice graduated from Albany Union High School in 1951. The Clack family lived at Camp Adair where Jan met her future husband, Norman Bethell. married in 1953 and were four days shy of celebrating their 40th Anniversary when Norm passed. Jan is preceded in death by husband Norman Bethell, parents Wendel and Emma Clack, and brother Galen Clack. Survivors include her sons, Randy of Albany, Cory and wife Karen of Elizabethtown KY, Jason and wife Lisa of Albany, daughter in law Kim of Scio, brother Stanley Clack and wife Josette of Greenbrier TN , grandchildren Taylor and wife Kate, Whitney and partner Dakota, Jaren, Jillian and husband Rick, Stephanie, Jeremy, Scott and great grandchildren Azaleah, Fraser and Elizabeth. A celebration of life will be held at the Benton Clubhouse in Adair Village on 11th from 3-6 pm. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that you consider a donation to Safe Haven Humane Society in Janice’s honor.
