Mr. Beck was a well- known carpenter. He was a member of Stave Creek Baptist Church. Mr. Beck was preceded in death by his parents and ten siblings. He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dot Beck of Jackson, AL; son, Daryl Beck of Jackson, AL; grandson, Grayson Ray Beck and numerous nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. services will be held on , May 22, 2015 at 10:00 at Stave Creek Baptist Church with Bro. Mr. Beck is survived by his wife, Mrs. Beck; daughters, Pam Lee, Cynthia Short and Louise Stocks; sons, Jim Beck, Kyle Bowman, Reuben O. Bowman; 15 grandchildren; and 24 great-grandchildren. Melvin was a long time member and Deacon of the First Baptist Church in Hazel Green, AL. and was an ordained preacher. He was a member of the National Guard as a cook.
