Memberships and Affiliations: Bill was formerly employed as Office Manager at Wabash Alloys in Cleveland and retired from Pickens Plastic in Jefferson . He served in the U.S. Army and was an active member of the Ashtabula Elks Club #208 and the American Legion Post 103. Bill loved golfing, cooking, fishing, and going on cruises with Sandy . also enjoyed traveling to state, local, and national tournaments with his former bowling league. Obituary: Brown, William H., Jr., age 93 of Beavercreek passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on , 22, 2014. He was born 23, 1921 in Dayton to the late William H., Sr. and Bertha Brown. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Mary Brown and his brother, Walter Brown of Indianapolis, IN. He is survived by his children; Patricia C. (Mike) Ankeney, Sharon D. Brown (Mike Neeman), Donna J. (Charles) Wagner, Lawrence W. (Julia) Brown; 9 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter. Bill was a tool and die maker and retired from the former Elano Corporation in Beavercreek. He was a founding member of Hope United Methodist Church in Bellbrook, which he attended from it's beginning until his death. He enjoyed playing golf and was a home handyman who could "fix" everything. He was a Loving husband, father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed by anyone who loved or knew him. The family will receive guests from 10 a.m. until 12 p.m. on , 30, 2014, at the TOBIAS FUNERAL HOME-BEAVERCREEK CHAPEL, 3970 Dayton-Xenia Road at Grange Hall Road. services will be held at 12 p.m. on with Pastor Roy Maxwell officiating. Obituary: William F. Brown, 75, of West Lafayette, Ohio, passed away at his residence on , 21, 2013. He was born in Boone, North Carolina on 1, 1938, the son of the late Howard H. and Pearl J. (Lane) Brown. Bill was a 1956 graduate of Fresno High School. He joined the United States Army in 1962 and served his country from of 1962- of 1964. Bill was a former partner of the H.H. Brown and Sons Lumber Yard where he worked alongside his brothers and father. He was also a truck driver for 50 years, owning and operating and driving for Trans Service. Bill enjoyed collecting antiques and buffalos, he spent a lot of time enjoying the outdoors camping, but most of all he enjoyed to talk, tell jokes, and laugh. He was a life member of the Newcomerstown Elks Lodge, a former member of the VFW, and attended services at First Baptist Church in West Lafayette, Ohio. On 4, 1978 he married Betty Lou Brown, who survives. In addition to his wife, Bill is survived by five children, Jacqueline S. Zimmer of Stow, Ohio, Andrew Howard (Janie) Brown of Coshocton, Alisa (Tim) Howell of Coshocton, John William (Melissa) Brown of Powell, Ohio, and Samantha Jane (Joel) Newport of Mason, Michigan; nine grandchildren, Stacey, Elicia, Cody, Katie, Brittany, Tanner, Garrett, Eryn, and Madie; seven great grandchildren; two brothers, Bryan (Brenda) Brown, and Jack (Marie) Brown; three sisters, Jean Miller, Cathy Price, and Patty Boyd; brother-in-law, Robert Kobel; sister-in-law, Linda Brown; and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. In addition to his parents, Bill is preceded in death by one brother, James Buck Brown; and two sisters, Mozell Kobel, and Lorene Shrimplin. Calling hours will be held at the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette, Ohio on , 24, 2013 from 2:00-4:00 pm and from 6:00-8:00 pm, also one hour prior to the time of service on . services will be held at the First Baptist Church in West Lafayette on at 12:00 pm with Pastor David Kraft officiating. Burial will follow at Fairfield where the Coshocton Veterans Council will perform military honors. An online memorial can be viewed at www.given-dawsonfuneralhome.com. |
