Obituary: John Fourqurean Burton, age 89, passed away May 26, 2017. Born 12, 1927 in Atlanta, GA, he was the son of the late Richard Herold Burton and Ernestine Grant Burton. John graduated from VMI in 1947 with a degree in Electrical Engineering. As a student at VMI, John served as First Class President and Honor Court President. He worked for Graybar Electric for 43 years retiring as Charlotte Branch manager in 1990. John was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who loved spending time with his family. He was a member of Sardis Presbyterian Church and Myers Park Country Club. As a Rotarian and member of West Charlotte Rotary, he was a Paul Harris Fellow. He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Norma Seay Burton; two children, Thomas C. Burton and wife Pam of Denver, NC and Jeanne Burton Gaffney and husband Steve of Charlotte; three grandchildren, John Robert Gaffney (Jordan), Kelly Dawn Burton, and David Brian Gaffney (Amber); and one great grandchild, Brian Lund Gaffney. He was preceded in death by his sister, Marjorie Burton Hammond. A service to celebrate John's life will be held at 11:00 a.m. , 2nd in Harry & Bryant's Chapel in the Oaks, 500 Providence Road. The family will receive friends following the service. Private interment will be in Forest Lawn East . In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the VMI Foundation PO Box 932, Lexington, VA 24450; American Heart Association; or Humane Society of Charlotte. |

Obituary: Jerome Marc Burton, 63, passed away , 14, 2014 at High Point Regional Hospital. He was surrounded by loved ones. He will be dearly missed by many people. We are all richer by having him in our lives. Marc was born on 20, 1950 in High Point, the son of the late James and Ruth Burton. He was a retired mechanic. Marc was passionate about Elvis Presley. He loved his music, watching his movies and collecting memorabilia. He also enjoyed fishing and the solitude of the mountains. Surviving are three sisters, Carolyn Blair and husband Jack, Janet Huffmaster and Robin Causey and husband Eddie; two brothers, Richard Burton and wife Connie, and John Burton and fiancé Tammy and Larry Burton and wife Marie. He was blessed with many nieces and nephews. The family would like to thank all medical staff involved in Marc’s life. The family would also like to express their gratitude to Marc’s friend, Larry McCall. Your help, love and kindness is most appreciated. A memorial service will be held on 12, 2014 from 1 – 3 at the home of Marc Burton. |

Obituary: Mr. Jeffrey Jeff Alan Burton, age 56 died 31, 2010 in High Point Regional Hospital. Mr. Burton was born in High Point on May 8, 1954 to Everette E. and Doris Keever Burton. He was formerly the assistant plant manager of Ready Mix Concrete and was of the Baptist faith. Jeff was a kind and loving person who never met a stranger. He had a great love of animals. On 19, 1993 he married Kathy Lynn Bulla who survives of the home. Also surviving are two daughters: Roxanne Blount and husband Don of Pinson, Alabama and Crystal Bruce and husband Don of Oxford, Alabama.
