Obituary: Mr. D. Henry Buchanan, 81, of Connelly Springs, passed away peacefully in his sleep at home, on , 10, 2015. Henry was born on 5, 1934 in Mitchell to the late Robert Lynn Buchanan and Hattie Carolyn McClurd. He was a longtime member of Abees Chapel Baptist Church and was retired from Drexel Heritage Furniture and East Burke Convenience . In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers; Millard, Ralph, Tarp, Bruce and Robert Buchanan and one sister, Edna Gilland. Survivors include his wife of 61 years, Florence Costner Buchanan of the home, one son, Donald Buchanan and wife Pam, one daughter, Diann Buchanan, one brother, Denver Buchanan of Rutherford and three sisters, Maggie Butler, Lillian Burleson and Gail Wise of Hickory. Also surviving are four grandchildren; Andrea Buchanan, Krysten Buchanan and Jason Buchanan all of Connelly Springs, and Heather Ward of Morganton, and two great grandchildren, Nikalus and Shea Ward. services will be held on , 12, 2015 at 3:00 P.M. at Abees Chapel Baptist Church, with Pastor Buddy Sizemore, Rev. Dwayne Buchanan and Rev. Seth Buchanan officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends on , from 1:00 until 3:00 P.M. at Abees Chapel Baptist Church. Memorials may be sent to Burke Hospice & Palliative , 1721 Enon Rd., Valdese, NC 28690. Obituary: Cary, NC-Christopher Chadwick Chad Buchanan, age 43, passed away on , 5, 2014 at his residence in Cary. Chad was born in Buncombe . He resided in Haywood for 20 years and the past 23 years in Raleigh. He is the son of Doug and Patty Buchanan. He was preceded in death by his grandfather, H.B. (Buck) Buchanan. Chad was a 1988 graduate of Pisgah High School in Canton, NC and a 1992 graduate of NC State University in Raleigh, NC. He worked 22 years in Technical Sales for various companies located in Research Triangle Park. Chad was an avid photographer, great cook, starving artist, diehard NC State fan and supported his nephews youth baseball. He attended Spring Hill Baptist Church. In addition to his parents, he is survived by a brother, Brian Buchanan and wife Angie; grandparents, Christine Buchanan, Ray and Edith Cook; his uncles and aunts, Bill Buchanan and Paulette, Cathy and David Boone and Rhonda Earley; nephews, Parker and Peyton Buchanan and cousins, Amanda and Aaron Earley. A memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on , 12, 2014 in the Canton Chapel of Wells with Reverend Jeff King and Reverend Bruce Cayton officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the Buchanan residence, 411 Toronto Trail, Clyde, NC 28721.
