Obituary: Keith Britland, 74, born in Preston, England to Christopher Britland and Bertha Wilson on 2, 1940, passed away suddenly on , 1, 2014. Mr. Britland was a longtime resident of Charlotte, NC where his son, Stuart, also lives. Mr. Britland is survived by his children: Stuart and his wife Chris, Samantha and her husband Rob, Craig and his wife Beverly, Stephen and his wife Carmen, along with 11 grandchildren: Andrew and Cameron, Ian and Keira, Rachel, Curtis, Isaac and Luke, Michael, Mark, and Mechelle, He is also survived by his sister and brother, Christina Reid and Kevin Britland, as well as many nieces and nephews. Born in the United Kingdom as the country was sustaining German bombardment. In 1955 at the age of 15, Keith was apprenticed as a toolmaker to the English Electric . completion of his apprenticeship he joined the Merchant Navy making two trips around the world as the Fifth Engineering Officer. In 1967 Keith married Jacqueline Britland and subsequently had 3 three children and adopted a fourth. Keiths work career continued as a toolmaker at B&R Taylor and Rex Campbell Engineers. In 1980 Keith was hired by the American company, Fansteel and immigrated with his family to California where he worked on components manufactured for the US space shuttle. Keith enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. He loved watching sports on television, especially English football. He particularly enjoyed visiting with his dear friends, while enjoying a good scotch and cigar. In his later years Keith suffered from Parkinsons disease. A reception will follow for all family and friends at the Britland residence at, 13235 Fairington Oaks Drive, Mint Hill NC. Obituary: Lewis Russell Bristow, 81, passed away , 19, 2015, at his home. A funeral service will be held on , 23, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at the Loflin Chapel, with Rev. Randy Kelley officiating. The family will receive friends following the service at Loflin . The family will hold a private burial following the visitation. Lewis was the son of the late Colon Russell and Ora Lee Bristow. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jean Griffin Bristow, and sister, Myrtle Bristow Brown. Survivors include his daughter, Carolyn Parks, and her husband, David; son, Russell Bristow, and his wife, Christine; and sisters, Alice Richardson and Faye Cheek. Also surviving are six grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff of Heaven Sent Private , especially Tricia McMasters and Angel Adylette for their love and care over the last few months.
