Obituary: Claude Julian Bowen, 83, of Cary, NC died 7, 2015. Mr. Bowen was born on May 15, 1931 in wood, AL. He served in the Army Corps of Engineers and retired from NASA. He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Mary H. Bowen; daughters, Gydell Wells and Karen Bowen; son, Claude Julian Bowen Jr.; granddaughter, Betsy Adamson; and great grandson, Brent Adamson. The family will receive friends from 3-5pm afternoon, 9, 2015 at Brown-Wynne in Cary, NC. A graveside service will held 11am , 10, 2015 at Unity Presbyterian Church in Newton Grove, NC. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in his memory to a charity of your choice. |

Obituary: BOWEN, Clarentine Lloyd Stansbury, age 88, died , 20, 2014. Mrs. Bowen was born 11, 1926 in Richmond, Va. She was the daughter of the late Andrew Cole and Edith Marie Bowles Lloyd; and wife of the late Earnest Alvin Stansbury and the late Raymond Brent Bowen. Surviving are her daughters, Cynthia Spence and Theresa Woods; sons, Alvin Keith and Dennis Stansbury; nine grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. , 25, 2014, in the Nelsen Reid Chapel, 412 S. Washington Hwy., Ashland, Va. 23005. Burial will be in Springfield Christian Church , Rockville, Va. The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Nelsen Reid Chapel. Flowers are welcome or memorial gifts may be made to the Temple Baptist School Scholarship Fund at 985½Patton Ave., Asheville, N.C. 28806. Obituary: Brandon Les Bowen, 22, left this life suddenly on the evening of 30, 2017. Brandon was a Charlotte native who lived in Winchester. He was a 2014 graduate of Cox Mill High School who worked at Team Charlotte Motorsports. Friends and relatives recall Brandon as a bright, cheerful young man with fiery red hair and a dry sense of humor. He was a talented sketch artist who loved longboarding, cars and motorcycles. He owned a succession of Ford Mustangs he loved to modify and repair; people throughout the country knew him through Mustang clubs and chat rooms. He enjoyed chilling on the porch swing and giving the best bear hugs. One friend said of Brandon, He knew how to stay positive in any situation, always found a solution to problems he was having or others were having. He made the best of everything. He could walk into a room and make everyone smile. Friends liked to kid Brandon about his resemblance to singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran. He was his mother, father, and stepparents cornerstone, their pride and joy, and his loss leaves a void that cannot be filled. He was a great help to his grandmother, Hope Bowen, of Charlotte. Survivors include Brandons mother, Betsy Bowen (John Ross) of Charlotte; his father, Randy Bowen (Jeanne M. Bowen) of Davidson, stepsiblings Lacey Ross and Taylor Brewer (Jake Brewer); uncles Brian Bowen, Darien Bowen and Les Bowen, and aunts Lisa Allred and Sharon Houston, as well as the many friends he made during his short life. Brandons family will receive friends from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. , 4th at Harry & Bryant, 500 Providence Road. A service to celebrate his life will follow at 3:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Levine Childrens Hospital, 1001 Blythe Blvd., No. 200, Charlotte, N.C., 28203. |
