Obituary: Leticia Borg 31, 1927 – 21, 2017 Leticia Borg, 89, of Wilson, passed away , 21, 2017. services will be conducted 12:00 Noon, , 27, 2017, at Thomas-Yelverton . Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park. Chaplain Tim Hopkins will officiate. The family will receive friends , from 11:00 A.M. – 12:00 Noon, just prior to the service, at Thomas-Yelverton , 2704 Nash St. N, Wilson, NC 27896. Born in San Lorenzo, Puerto Rico, daughter of the late Raphael Collazo and Leticia Baquero Collazo, Leticia had lived in Long Island, NY and Florida before moving to Wilson. She was retired from a career in housekeeping. She was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Surviving are her sons, Glenn Borg and wife, Linda, of Elm City, Fred Borg of Wilson, Rick Borg and wife, Laurieann, of Wilson and Robert Borg of California; six grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren; and a son-in-law, Bob Wiegand of Michigan. She was preceded in death by her husband, Oke Fritz Borg, a daughter, Irene Wiegand; and her parents. arrangements are under the direction of Thomas-Yelverton , Wilson, NC. Obituary: Norbert Nono Boren, 79, died 3, 2010 at the Veterans Hospital in Salisbury, N.C. He was born 23, 1931 in Brussels, Belgium. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War where he earned his U. S. Citizenship. Nono loved music of all kinds, old movies, and French cooking. He was a member of Rich Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville, N.C. and attended Emanuel Lutheran Adult Day in High Point, N.C. Formerly a resident of Florida; he was a charter member of the St. Lucie Chapter of the Aluminum Association of Florida where he was an active participant and aluminum construction instructor. He was preceded in death by his parents, Andre and Teresa Boren; a brother, Joe Boren. He is survived by his beloved wife of 30 years, Virginia Lou Boren; two sons, Richard Ric Boren and wife Susan, Todd Boren; a stepson, Jerry Chip Blackwell; a step-daughter, Glenda Jones and husband Mike; 10 grandchildren, Jennifer Boren, Lindsey Boren, Coco Boren, Jamie Boren, MacArthur Boren, Jennifer Delorco, Sean Jones, Daniel Jones, David Jones, Alexis Blackwell; one sister, Simone Dunn and husband Seymour; nephews and nieces, Marc and Caryn Dunn, Stephen and Michele Baker, Joshua and Beth Dunn, Gabrielle, Cheyenne, and Andre Dunn; many more sisters and brothers-in-law and nieces and nephews. A Memorial Service will be held at Rich Fork Baptist Church in Thomasville, N.C. on , 6, 2010 at 11:00 am with Pastor Michael Bowers officiating. A private Committal was held at the National in Salisbury, N.C. with full Military Honors. Thomasville is assisting the family. Obituary: Eva Katherine Mock Boren, born 24, 1915, in San Antonio, Texas; passed away 12, 2004, in Asheville, North Carolina. She was the daughter of the late Thomas M. and Eli Hansen Mock and wife of the late James A. Boren. A proud San Antonio resident for most of her life, Eva grew up on Thelka Street, helped deliver milk from her familyÂs cows, and attended Hillcrest Elementary and Harrison Junior Schools. graduating from Brackenridge High School in 1933, she worked for JoskeÂs Department Store and married Jim-Alec Boren in 1935. were happily married for 45 years until he passed away in 1980. Eva became active in the PTA at 3 Harlandale schools and very involved with the Girl Scouts. Starting as an assistant troop leader with ÂTroop 11 in the 50s, she later became troop leader, chair lady, vice president, and board member. Eva loved scouting and treasured that time. In , 1965, she was asked by the City to become the director of LionÂs Field Recreation . It was the beginning of a 37-year career there, and as one colleague said in 2000, ÂEva is LionÂs Field. Under her tutelage, the membership, programs and physical building blossomed into an exciting and thriving entity that became the pride of the city. She had a unique ability to bring diverse people and talents together to create beautiful projects and big fun-filled productions. In her own right, she was an accomplished artist and taught painting for years. At age 87, she retired and moved to Asheville, NC. Though she missed her friends in San Antonio, she cherished being with her family, loved the beauty of her new Creekside home and the surrounding mountains, and continued to enjoy playing bridge. While in San Antonio, she was a devoted parishioner of Christ Lutheran Church and continued her worship in Asheville. Eva leaves a profound personal, professional and spiritual legacy. She is survived by nephews and nieces: Tom I. Mock and Anne J. Mock, their children and grandchildren: Ashley M. Dotson and Thomas A. Dotson, Morgan and Brenner Dotson, of Asheville, NC; Charles D. Mock and Becky C. Mock of San Carlos, CA; Charles S. Mock and Julie F. Mock of San Antonio, TX; Janet M. Willingham and Thomas A. Willingham of Punta Gorda, FL; Annie M. Chan and Christopher T. Chan and their children, Claire and Amy Chan of Cambridge, MA, and throngs of others she considered family. |
