Obituary: Carl W. Bolender, Sr., 84, passed away peacefully 2, 2011 in Cary, NC. Born on 23, 1926, he was a life-long resident of Newport , RI. Carl served during WWII as a gunner in the US Navy. Obituary: William A. Bolen, Jr. Bill, 69, of Charlotte, was called to his eternal home on 6, 2014. Bill was a 1967 graduate of the University of South Carolina with a degree in Business Administration and served six years in the Army National Guard in South Carolina and Mississippi. He retired from Johnson & Johnson Medical, Inc. after 30 years as a medical sales representative in the Patient division where he was a member of the Ring Club and later the Sons of the General. Bills life was a testament to his faith and its significance in his life. As an active member of Advent Lutheran Church in Charlotte, Bill held various leadership positions, was a bible study teacher and an usher captain. As an extension of his faith, Bill was also an active member of the Eastern North Carolina Via de Cristo community. Bills love for his wife, family, and friends was foremost in his life. He had a special gift for cultivating and maintaining relationships. His caring heart and genuine concern for others will leave a lasting legacy for all whose lives he touched. His quick wit, sense of humor, and caring personality were his most memorable qualities. Bill was an avid fan of the South Carolina Gamecocks and the Carolina Panthers, but his real passion was supporting his grandsons baseball teams. He was preceded in death by his parents, William A. Bolen, Sr. and Ruth Frances Morris Bolen, brother John Andrew Bolen and sister Linda Susan Bolen. He is survived by his wife of 28 years, Catherine Poston Bolen of Charlotte; children, Jennifer Canipe of Harrisburg, Katie Burrows (Karl) of Charlotte, and Jeffrey Canipe (Beth) of Concord; grandchildren, Gavin Canipe, and Kaeli and Scot Burrows; sisters, Ann Curry of Greenville, SC and Mary Jones (Ned) of Easley, SC; and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill will be missed by all who knew and loved him. A celebration of his life will be held at Advent Lutheran Church on 2, 2014, at 11am preceded by visitation at 10am. Pastor Ward Misenheimer will officiate the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Advent Lutheran Church, 8840 University City Blvd. Charlotte, NC 28213. Obituary: Thomas Edward Tommy Bolen, Jr. 83, of Sunset Beach passed away on , 05, 2015 at the SECU Hospice House of Brunswick. Mr. Bolen was born 26, 1932 in Washington, DC, the son of the late Thomas Edward and Irma Bolen. Tommy worked 32 years with AT&T where he was a member of the Pioneer Club. Mr. Bolen was a veteran of the US Army and had been a school teacher in the United Methodist Church. Tommy was a very honest, loving, kind, and compassionate man who loved his wife and kids more than anything. Mr. Bolen was preceded in death by a brother Edward Bolen. Surviving is his wife of 52 years, Ann Bolen; two sons Charles Bolen and wife Kimberly, of Central Point, OR, and David Bolen of Baltimore, MD; a brother Alvin Bolen of Leonardtown, MD; a sister Lillian Brown and husband Edward of Myrtle Beach, SC; a sister-in-law Rosa Bolen of Sunset Beach; two grandchildren Grace Bolen and Lance Bolen; and several nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Obituary: James Thomas Boleman , 94 , of Hickory, went home to be with his Lord on , 8, 2017 at Catawba Valley Medical in Hickory. Born May 22, 1922 in Hartwell, GA, he was the son of the late Ernest T. Boleman and Grace Burns Boleman. He was a member of Tabernacle Baptist Church since 1951 and retired from E.R. Carpenter. James loved fishing, coaching church softball team, watching the Atlanta Braves and Washington Redskins games, watching western movies and spending time with his family especially going to Price Park for breakfast. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of 72 years, Margaret Peggy Evelyn Barger Boleman; daughter, Shirley Bumgarner; and sister, Mae. were blessed with three daughters and one son, eleven grandchildren, fifteen great grandchildren and four great-great grandchildren. Survivors include son, Tommy Boleman, Jr. and wife Robyn and their son, Josh of Bethlehem; daughter, Martha Eckard and husband Bob and their children, Cheryl Deal and husband Adam and their children Christopher and Ryan of Hickory, T.J.
