Obituary: Mr. Charlie Floyd Biggin Benge, 78, of Motsinger Road, passed away , 27, 2014 at Thomasville Medical . Mr. Benge was born on 20, 1936 in Spartanburg, SC to Clarence and Cennie Price Benge. He had worked as a truck driver for many years and also worked as a self-employed painter and handyman. He was a member of New Beginnings Church for 39 years. Surviving are his wife, Eve Courtney Benge of the home; son, Tony Benge and fiancé Heather of Mooresville; daughter, Starlene Horne and husband Curtis of Gastonia; foster daughter, Gladys Thomas and her children Mark, Tonya, and John; sisters, Gladys Ashe and Betty Jean Benge; and brothers, Lewis, Frankie, and Danny Benge. Also surviving are six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins. will be 2pm in the chapel of Thomasville , 18 Randolph Street, with Rev. Obituary: WINSTON-SALEM - On , 7, 2009, Cecil Edward Benge transitioned to his heavenly home. He was born in Surry on 19, 1934, to Clarence and Ida Coe Benge. He was preceded in death by his parents; his sister, Sadie Sprinkle; infant brother and sister, Robert Lee and Martha Jewel. He is survived by the love of his life, Barbara Wall Benge; his daughter, Cecelia (Barry) Westmoreland; son, Greg (Suzanne) Benge; extended family members for whom he was a father figure, Becky (Leroy) Matlock, Erika (Dean) Lambeth, and Chuck (Michele) Harmon; and sisters, Maggie Whitaker, Onita (Paul) Riggs, and Geraldine Martin; and two special nephews, and eight grandchildren who were the joy of his life. serving 2 years in the U. S. Army, he began a long and distinguished career in food service. He will be especially remembered for his outstanding bakery creations for special occasions. He was a member of First Baptist Church of Rural Hall. The family will receive friends on , 10 from 7-9 p.m. at Voglers , Reynolda Road, Winston-Salem. The will be held , 11, at 2 p.m. at First Baptist Church Rural Hall with burial at Crestview Memorial Park in Rural Hall. Obituary: Virginia Donaldson Benfield, a resident of Brookdale (Robinwood) Assisted Living in Gastonia, passed away peacefully on , 6, 2016 at the blessed age of 98. A native of Lincoln , she was the daughter of the late Charlie and Mary Emma Donaldson. Virginia was a long-time member of Emmanuel Baptist Church in Conover, NC where she lived before moving to Gastonia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years, Paul E. Benfield; brother, Thomas Queen; sister, Mary Ellen Donaldson; and a son-in-law, Chick Saine. She is survived by her four children; Darrel Benfield and wife, Jannie, Becky Benfield Saine, Sarah Benfield Baucom and husband, Bill, and Stephen Benfield and wife, Suzanne; 13 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and 4 great-great grandchildren. A Service of Remembrance will be held at 1:00 p.m. on , 10, 2016 at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Conover with Pastor Brian Correll officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 12:00 p.m. until 12:45 at the church. Burial will follow at Conover City . Pallbearers will be Kelly Saine, Andy Saine, Wesley Saine, David Benfield, Chris Benfield, Mark Benfield, and Brian Benfield. Obituary: Virginia Mae Burleson Benfield, 96, of Drexel, departed this life to her heavenly home on 25, 2015 at Autumn following a period of declining health. Mrs. Benfield was born on 18, 1919 in Avery to the late Troy Burleson and Gertie Alice Robinson Burleson. She was a seamstress, and a retired textile worker with Burke Mills, Inc. She loved crafts and working in her flowers, and especially bird watching. She was the oldest living member of the Morganton Moose Lodge. She was a member of Amherst Baptist Church. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by two sons, Martin A. Jimbo Benfield and Terry Benfield; one daughter, Nancy Smith; a son-in-law, Larry Humphries; two grandchildren, Michael Humphries and Marty Bollinger; and a granddaughter in law, Patti Young Humphries. Survivors include her son, Allen Benfield of Valdese; two daughters, Alice Humphries and Donnie Stamey of Connelly Springs and Linda Bollinger and husband Steve of Valdese; and a daughter-in law, Susie Benfield of Valdese ; five grandchildren and a number of great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving is her feline companion, Angel, her tuxedo cat. Services will be held at 4:00 P.M. 27, 2015 in the Chapel of Heritage Service in Valdese, with Rev. Harold Joplin officiating. Interment will follow at Burke Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 3:00-4:00 P.M. at Heritage Service in Valdese.
