Obituary: Myrtle Beck, 98, passed away peacefully on , May 29, 2015 at Clapps in Pleasant Garden, NC. She was loved by many and will leave and impact on all those she left behind. She was preceded in death by her husband Johnny; her mother, Leona Poston and her granddaughter, Mary Bouroughs. Surviving are her daughters; Barbara Melville (Victor) of Asheboro, NC, Nancy Moffitt (Richard) of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Victor Melville Jr. (Angie) of Asheboro, NC, Richard Moffitt Jr. (Shelia) of Sofia, NC and Paul Mofitt of Greensboro, NC. Also surviving are seven great grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. services will be held on , 11:00 a.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel with Pastor William Fields officiating. Burial will follow at Guilford Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Hanes Lineberry Sedgefield Chapel. Obituary: Mr. Sidney Howard Beck , 78, of Morganton, unexpectedly went home to be with the Lord 8, 2015 at the John Kever Solace in Asheville. Mr. Beck was born 19, 1937 in Burke to the late John William Beck and Virginia Acuff. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and a volunteer firefighter at Drexel Fire Department . He also worked thirty years at the Sunbeam Bakery in Valdese before retiring. He was a member of Enon Baptist Church. Survivors include his daughter Belinda Beck of Asheville; grandchildren Evangelina Powell of Asheville, Ashley Blankenship of Asheville, Chazi Blankenship of Cherokee, and Justin Brian Smith of Drexel; great grandchild Kamaya Robinson of Asheville; brother Gary Beck and wife Libby of Morganton; and sisters Peggy Ann Dowd of Connecticut, and Brenda Lebsenburger and husband Scott of Mississippi. A funeral service for Mr. Beck will be held 3:00 PM 14, 2015 in the Chapel of Heritage Service with the Rev. Gary Garner officiating. The family will receive friends prior to the service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at Heritage Service in Valdese. Interment will follow the service at Burke Memorial Park with military honors provided by Caldwell Veterans Honor Guard and NC National Guard.
