Obituary: Christopher Patrick Beach, 18, of Cary, North Carolina passed away , 1, 2015, surrounded by his family. Chris was a 2015 graduate of Cary High School and was enrolled at Wake Tech Community , with the intention of transferring to NC State in 2016. Chris had an adventurous spirit and was known by all for his sense of humor and creative puns. He was an avid history buff and never passed up an opportunity to talk to a war veteran. Chris is survived by his parents, Patrick and Kerry Beach, and sister, Jessie Beach, as well as numerous beloved aunts, uncles and cousins. He also leaves behind his service dog, Java, and honorary brother, Curtis Ledford. Chris did his best to live life to the fullest despite his disability and was an inspiration to all who met him. Obituary: Bela Robert Beach, 95, of Hudson, died , 17, 2011 at the Lutheran West in Hickory. Mr. Beach was born in Caldwell to the Elbert Earl Beach and Mamie Lutz Beach. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Vernell Keller Beach; a son, Jerry Beach; two brothers, Ben and Jim Beach; five sisters, Merle King, Esther Hopper, Jane Veal, Inez McRae and Bernice Cohen. He was a graduate of Hudson High School and Rutherford , retired from Century Furniture, served in the U. S. Army during World War II as a Command Sergeant Major and participated in the Normandy Invasion and also served in the NC National Guard, and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Hudson where he was a choir member and served as a Deacon. Survivors include his son, Gene Beach and wife Denise of Newton; a sister, Marie Miller of Lenoir; a granddaughter, Meghan Smith of Lincolnton. A funeral service will be held , 19, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at the First Baptist Church of Hudson with Reverend R. Mack Jarvis, III officiating. Burial will follow at Sardis . The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family requests that memorials be made to the First Baptist Church of Hudson, c/o Family Life Building Fund, 345 Main Street, Hudson, NC 28638.
