Obituary: Grace G. Bathrick, 80, passed away peacefully on , 21, 2015, in her home after a short struggle from cancer. She lived in Cary, NC for the last 30 years and was originally from Marcy, NY. She was the daughter of the late Mary Edna (Woolley) and Howard Ralph Roberts. She worked for the phone company for many years and then moved on to work for Gregory Poole where she retired after 23 years. She had a full life, loved to be outside and enjoyed bird watching and staying in shape. She was able to enjoy travel with family and friends throughout her life. Grace is survived and will be deeply missed by son, James R. Bathrick and wife, Michelle, of Pittsboro, NC; daughter, Margaret E. Young and husband, Tom, of Sunbury, OH; brother, John Roberts and wife, Justine, of Annandale, VA; and 6 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard D. Bathrick who died in 1987; sister, Margaret Yutzler, Meza, AZ who passed in 2015; and brothers, Donald and Howard. The family will receive friends at Brown-Wynne , 200 SE Maynard Road, Cary, NC 27511 on , 24, 2015 at 1:00pm followed by a service at 2:00pm. In lieu of flowers, Grace wished for memorial contributions to be made to Transitions Life , 250 Hospice Circle, Raleigh, NC 27607. The family would like to thank Transitions for their care and support. |

Obituary: James Dwane Batey, 56, of Charlotte passed away 19, 2016. He was born in of 1959 in Anniston Alabama to Grover and Sue Batey. Although Dwane was raised in Charlotte, he never forgot where he came from and enjoyed visiting family often. Dwane was a lifelong learner and an avid reader. He graduated from Harding High School in 1978. Dwane was employed by Hendrick Motorsports for sixteen years as a Fabricator in the Chassis Shop. Hes always had a passion for cars and racing. Even as a young child he spent hours drawing cars and dreaming about racing during school. Dwane also had a passion for aviation and photography. One of his favorite events to learn about was WWII. He was a longtime volunteer at the NC Aviation Museum where he helped to restore aircraft. Dwane was lucky enough to be able to combine his love for aviation with his love for photography. An amazing photographer, Dwane had the right eye at the right time to produce that once in a lifetime shot. Dwane was lucky to have so many great friends. He would be honored to know the outpouring of love during these last few days. He enjoyed spending time with his best friend Lindsay Edwards and going out with his friends every weekend. He was fiercely protective and loyal to everyone he held dear. Dwane was loved and respected by all who knew him. Dwane was preceded in death by his parents Grover and Sue Batey, and also by his nephew Gregory Goodman. He is survived by his sister Susan Batey Goodman and husband Ron, and niece Kristen Goodman. A service to celebrate Dwane's life will be held at Forest Lawn West on 23, 2016. Visitation will begin at 1 p.m. and his service at 2:30 p.m. Reverend Robert Shaw will be officiating. under the direction of Forest Lawn West & Cremation Service, Charlotte, NC. |

Obituary: Nicolle Bateski would like you to know that her work here is done. She received a call, sort of an offer you can refuse, for an appointment from which she will not be returning. This assignment comes with a huge sign-on bonus, a reunion with God. Her new mission takes her to a wonderful place where she will be at the beach every day blessed with sunshine and happiness. Nicolle was born on 16, 1992 in Raleigh, NC. She graduated from Millbrook High School in 2009 and earned an Associates Degree in Science at Wake Tech. She found her passion for pastry design as the manager of Gigis Cupcakes. From an early age Nicolle never met anyone she couldn call a friend. Regardless of the huge umbrella in place and two inches of sunscreen covering her fair skin, she would crawl over to the nearest beach goers just to say hi. She had a o fear love of life. From parasailing in Mexico, feeding sharks in Curacao, exploring caves in the mountains to climbing 6 flights of stairs up to an unmarked apartment to China Town which opened to a room filled with Louis Vuitton, Prada, & Gucci purses, she enjoyed all life had to offer. She is survived by her mother and father, Jennifer Parker and Paul Bateski; brother, Nicholas Bateski; maternal grandparents, Robert and Susan Warren, paternal grandparents, Ann and James Bateski; Uncle Gregg Warren; Aunt Cindy Simms and Uncle Bill Simms, Jr.; Aunt Diane Wells and Uncle Tim Wells; her cousins, Madison Warren, Jared Simms, Micah Simms, Gracie Simms and Megan Wells. A funeral service will be held , 6, 2015 at 7 p.m., Brown-Wynne , 1701 E. Millbrook Rd., Raleigh. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. prior to the service.
