Obituary: Mrs. Sudie Mae Baker, 78, passed away , 29, 2015 at her residence following a brief illness. Sue was born in Pitt , 13, 1936, a daughter of the late Doc and Venetia Tingen. She had lived in Tarboro for many years and was employed by Mayo Knitting Mills. Sue had lived in High Point the past seventeen years and worked at Carolina Thrift. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Tywanna Baker Bailey and a brother, Joe Tripp. Sue was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved animals and flowers. Surviving are four sons, Alton Baker and wife Valerie of Tarboro, Richard Baker and wife Helen of West Palm Beach, FL, Mark Baker and girlfriend Janice Walker of Greenville/Winston Salem, NC, and Jack Baker and girlfriend Sylvia May of High Point; five grandchildren, Susan Michelle Baker, Chrissy Bailey, Nick Baker, Travis Baker and Joel Dorris; five great-grandchildren, Ashley, Summer and Jordan McCall, Aiden Hudspeth and Matthew Baker Cobb; three great-great-grandchildren, Samiya, Aniyla, and A.J. Junior McCall; . A Celebration of Sue’s Life will be held at 8 p.m. in the Davis s and Cremations Chapel by the Rev. Jim Summey. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 6 until 8. |
