Obituary: Margaret Louise Harris Baker, age 105, went to be with the Lord on , 11, 2014, at Grace Heights in Morganton. services will be held at 2:00 pm , 14, 2014, at First Baptist Church in Morganton with Dr. Thomas Bland and Rev. Jerry Gamble officiating. Visitation will be from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm (today) at Kirksey in Morganton. Burial will follow at Burke Memorial Park. Louise was born on 7, 1909, in Burke to William Edgar and Mary Elizabeth Kincaid Harris and lived here her entire life. graduating from Morganton High School in 1929, she was married to Charles Wesley Baker in 1932, and together they raised 2 children. In her later years, Louise lived with her son Bill and his wife Kathryn. She was a longtime member of First Baptist Church who was devoted to her family. Louise is survived by her children, William A. Bill Baker Sr., and wife Kathryn of Morganton and Mary Louise Caudill of Richmond, VA.; sister, Gwen Lindsay of Morganton; 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 9 great, great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charles Baker; son in law, Paul Caudill; sisters, Clyde Radar, Mary Inez Harris, Elsie Halsey and Ydoine (Todd) Smith and great grandson Curtis Baker. Obituary: Mareka Ducharme Baker, 36, passed away on evening, 12, 2011. Born on 1, 1975 in Korea; she was the daughter of Kathleen Hallenbeck Ducharme and the late James Ducharme. Mareka graduated from North Carolina State University with a degree in Computer Science. She was a consultant for Open Text, a software company. She was a generous, kind and quiet person who was focused on her husband and career. She is survived by her husband, Charles Baker, of Apex; her mother, Kathleen Ducharme, of Greensboro; her brothers and families, Matthew and Mia Ducharme and their children, Nicolas, Kathryn and Amanda, of Reidsville and Mark and Tonya Ducharme and their children James and Michael, of Winston-Salem; by her uncle and family, Roz and Vicky Hallenbeck, of Winston-Salem; and by many other family and friends. Obituary: GASTONIA - Macie Lorene Auten Baker, 86, passed away Oct. 14, 2013, at Lakewood , Denver with her loving family by her side. She was born in Cramerton and was the daughter of the late Macon and Eula Bush Auten. Mrs. Baker was a member of First United Methodist Church, Gastonia. Mrs. Baker was a faithful member of the Methodist Church and assisted her late husband, Rev. Fred Lee Baker, Sr. in his ministry serving many Methodist Churches in North Carolina. Mrs. Baker is survived by her daughter, Beverly Walker and husband Tommy of Cornelius; one brother, Harold Auten of Florida; one grandson, Jason Walker and wife Jennifer of Cary; two great grandchildren, Haley and Reagan Walker of Cary. The family will receive friends from 10 to 10:45 a.m. at First United Methodist Church, 190 East Franklin Blvd., Gastonia with the funeral service to follow at 11 a.m. with Dr. David Christy and the Rev. Keith Whitener officiating. Interment will follow at Gaston Memorial Park. Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 43 years, Rev. Fred Lee Baker, Sr.; one son, Fred Lee Baker, Jr.; one granddaughter, Leslie Walker; three brothers, Glenn Auten, Lloyd Auten, Fred Auten; three sisters, Fannie Chaney, Catherine Carnes, Doris Whitener.
