Obituary: To Tuty Sarah Buntaran, the entire world was a stage. An expressive, optimistic, and uninhibited individual, she was a performer in the theater of life. To everyone around her, she seemed to be eternally happy, and she willingly shared that joy with anyone whose life she touched. For Tuty, bringing out the best in any situation was as easy as offering a smile, a witty remark or the twinkle of an eye. And with just those simple gestures, she could evoke the most pleasant of emotions. Tuty really mastered the art of living and had great fun in doing so. Tuty was born on 25, 1915 in Tanjung Pandan, Belitung, Indonesia. Her parents were Lee Bu Moi and Tjong Su Hin. Tuty was raised in Indonesia. Even as a child, Tuty had the ability to lift the spirits of all those around her. She was raised to be warm, caring and friendly. She couldn help but capture everyones attention. She was definitely a little bit of a show off, but in doing so, she succeeded in entertaining her entire family. Always a good playmate, Tuty was easygoing and fun loving. She managed to lighten the mood wherever she was, even during family squabbles. She seemed to have a knack for bringing compromise and erasing tense situations around the house. Due to a generous dose of common sense, Tuty managed to find a satisfying solution to basic problems. Tuty was raised with five siblings. She had three brothers, Ki Chuk, Chin Sam, and Chin Pin, and two sisters, A Jiu and A Khiuk. All of Tutys playful good humor carried over into her childhood. She was possessed with an outgoing personality, a lively imagination and a mellowed enthusiasm for life that allowed her to be constantly on the go. As a result, Tuty experienced a rather active childhood, and this suited her very well. She took part in swimming and was actively attending church. In her spare time she liked cooking, sewing, and crafts. Tuty never actually encountered a stranger in her dealings with people. She was drawn to individuals and crowds, using her gregarious, adaptable and outgoing personality to captivate her audience. This quality allowed Tuty to continually develop new relationships, ever widening her circle of friends. Tuty delighted in her role among all her acquaintances, because she viewed them all as potential spectators for her performance. Whether it was a story, a joke, a song or just plain fooling around, Tuty was always right at home putting on a show among her friends. Tuty utilized her interest in others as a great way to connect with them. While growing up, some of her best friends were Mrs. Bong. Tuty loved sharing life and having her home filled with people she knew. The gift of being emotionally expressive and outwardly affectionate made Tuty very easy to approach. In 1935 Tuty exchanged wedding vows with Thomas R. Buntaran (Boeu Tjin Fuk) at Chinese Evangelical Church of Belitung, Indonesia. She tried hard not to impose on her spouse. She was always sensitive to other peoples feelings, and that was especially true in marriage. Perhaps the reason Tuty related so well to children was the fact that she never really completely grew up herself. The ability to be just a kid at heart helped her in raising her own children. Tuty was blessed with seven children: Junaiadi, Johanes, Farida, Elly, Meekness, Esther, and Linda. were also blessed with 18 grandchildren and 28 great grandchildren. Tuty had the ability to focus her attention on the present moment. If she was spending time with the kids, thats where all of her attention was directed. Tutys compassionate side prevented her from being a strict disciplinarian, and she could turn just about any situation into a playful, learning experience. She could spend hours entertaining them with fun and creative play. In fact, Tuty had a knack for turning some of those nasty old chores into games. Tuty enjoyed her leisure time by taking part in various hobbies. An arts and crafts type, Tuty liked creating and making things. Her favorite pursuits were sewing and cooking. Tuty was content to enjoy her hobbies alone but was also willing to share her interests with others. A generous person who often wore her heart on her sleeve, Tuty often found herself involved in activities she deemed important. She was charitable, kind and giving, qualities that made her a natural volunteer. Outspoken in her beliefs, yet tactful in her dealings with others, Tuty was a member of several community groups, serving on committees for the church at Grace Chinese Baptist. Politically, Tuty was a Republican. Vested with a deep concern for spiritual development, Tuty recognized that her faith was important to her throughout her life. She was a Christian for 72 years. During that time, she prayed everday for her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and for her own salvation. Living life in the fast lane suited Tuty just fine. It is no surprise that she loved to travel and to visit new and different places. She was naturally curious about other parts of the world and loved the real life adventure that came from visiting them. She was impulsive and willing to try anything once. Favorite vacations included Alaskan Cruise, Hawaii, Cancun, Europe, Bali, Florida, New Hampshire, Sweden, Scotland, the Caribbean, Israel, United States, Italy, Mexico, Turkey, and Las Vegas. She travelled the world. Tuty passed away on 1, 2010 at home in San Jose, California surrounded by 3 generations. She is survived by her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. Services were held in the Chapel of the Oaks at Oak Hill in San Jose, California. Tuty was laid to rest in Sunset Lawn at Oak Hill Memorial Park in San Jose, California. Obituary: Lois May Millar Buntain passed away 10, 2017 with her family by her side. Lois was born on Oct. 31, 1927 in Glenrock, Wyoming to Duncan & Fanny Millar. She grew up in Big Bar California. She married her childhood sweetheart Bill Buntain on 20, 1947. Bill and Lois first met in kindergarten in 1935 in Big Bar, Trinity in a one room school house and shared the last 65 plus years together. moved with their family to Red Bluff in 1959. Moms passion was gardening and her yard is full of beautiful flowers, sewing and designing her own clothes and making her own patterns. She also spent many hours doing various crafts. She was a very driven, and accomplished many things in her life. Most importantly, she raised five children, "rug rats" as Mom and Dad affectionately referred to us, blessing us all with so many fond memories. Lois is survived by her brother David Millar of Washington, son David Buntain, daughters Kathy Brown, Patsy Brown, JoAnn Crow and numerous grandchildren and too many to count great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren and nieces and nephews, and Moms constant companion was her little dog, Abby. Lois was preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill, son Ronald, granddaughter NaCole, grandsons Chad and Jeremiah and daughter-in-law Kathy. Graveside services will be held at Oak Hill in Red Bluff on 18,2017 at l:00pm.
