Obituary: Martin Alexander Bourassa May 3, 1923 - 25, 2012 Martin was born on May 3, 1923 in Jefferson, South Dakota, the eleventh of twelve children. He passed away on 25, 2012 in Lakewood, CA. As a young man, he was drafted into the Army and served his country in WWII as a staff sergeant and in the 95th Infantry. Before leaving, he married his hometown sweetheart, Lorraine, and celebrated sixty-seven loving years together. returning home from the war, Martin soon started a career with Firestone Rubber Manufacturing, where he worked for 40 years as a production manager. In addition to raising three children, the couple provided love and guidance to an incredibly large family of relatives and friends. Martin is survived by his three children, Renee, Gary and Erin; twelve grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and sister, Gabe. He is remembered by countless others who were touched by his spirit. Visitation will be held , 3, 2012 from 5-7 p.m. with a rosary service immediately following at the Luyben Family Dilday-Mottell Chapel. mass will be held , 4, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Cyprian Church, 4714 Clark Ave., Long Beach, CA. Obituary: Lorraine B. Bourassa Lorraine was born on May 15, 1921 in Sioux City, Iowa and passed away on 7, 2010 in Long Beach. She moved to Long Beach and married her hometown sweetheart on 16, 1943. Once her children were grown, her professional career began at Bullocks Department Store where she worked for 18 years as an auditor, retiring in 1983. her long struggle with Alzheimers, she is now at peace with our Lord. She is survived by her loving husband, Martin; three children, Renee, Gary and Erin; 12 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; brother, Robert Boyd; and sister, Jean Butler. Visitation will be held (today) at 4 pm until rosary at 6 pm, both at the mortuary chapel. Mass will be held on , 11 at 11 am at St. Cyprians Catholic Church.
