Obituary: WILLIAM CHARLES BROOKHOUSER 1928 – 2015 William Bill Charles Brookhouser age 86 of Columbus, NE passed away peacefully on 30, 2015 at the Norfolk Veterans in Norfolk, NE. Bill was born on 18, 1928 to John Henry and Ella Maude (Conrad) Brookhouser in Elgin, NE. He was raised in northeast Nebraska until the early 1940s, when he moved with his family to Plattsmouth. Bill graduated from Plattsmouth High School with the class 1947. graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Air Force and served his country during the Korean Conflict for three years from 1947 to 1950. serving his country, he attended Wesleyan University for one year. Bill worked for Consumers Public Power District. He met Charline R. Holoubek and they were later married on 16, 1954 at St. Johns Catholic Church in Plattsmouth. Bill and Charline made their home in Wisconsin for three years, until of 1959, when they moved to Plattsmouth where they raised their children. Bill worked as a High Voltage Electrician at Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, NE until he retired in of 1994. The Brookhousers moved to Columbus, NE in of 2013. He was a member of Church of the Holy Spirit, Hugh J. Kerns American Legion Post #56, and a Golden Eagle of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #365 all of Plattsmouth. Bill is survived by his wife: Charline Brookhouser of Columbus, NE, son: Gregory Brookhouser and Kay Holmes of Washington, DC, daughter: Lynne Rambour and husband George IV of Columbus, NE, six grandchildren: Brooke Cemper and husband Ted, George Rambour V and wife Paige, Andrea Brookhouser, John Brookhouser, Leia Brookhouser, Eric Brookhouser, great granddaughter: Lenora Cemper, sister-in-law: Dorothy Brookhouser of Cedarburg, WI, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends. He was preceded in death by his parents: John and Ella Brookhouser, three brothers and their wives: Jack and Phyllis Brookhouser, Robert and Peggy Brookhouser, Dale Brookhouser, and sister and her husband: Joyce and Tom Schaefer. A Memorial Mass will be held at 10:30 A.M., , May 7, 2015 at Church of The Holy Spirit in Plattsmouth with Father David Azanbawu officiating, Brooke Cemper and Louie Rambour as lectors, Ken Aylor as acolyte, Larry Jensen as vocalist, and Jolene Rogge as organist. The Rosary will be held at 10:00 A.M., , May 7, 2015 at Church of The Holy Spirit. Visitation will be held from 9:30 to 10:00 A.M., , May 7, 2015 at Church of The Holy Spirit. Military Rites will be conducted by Lepert Wolever V.F.W. Post #2543 of Plattsmouth. Final Resting place is at Holy Sepulchre in Plattsmouth. The family suggests memorials to the Alzheimers Association or the Norfolk Veterans . |
