Obituary: Barry R. Buckles, 66, of Kansas City, Missouri, passed away , 23, 2010, at St. Joseph Hospital. A Memorial Service will be held , 26th, 6:00 p.m., at McGilley State Line Chapel. Cremation. Barry was born , 21, 1944 in Kansas City, Missouri. He worked at Western Missouri Mental for over 30 years. He was an avid golfer and after his retirement he worked as a Marshal at Minor Park Golf Course. He was a longtime member of the 75th Street Brewery Mug Club. Barry was a loving husband and father, a favorite brother and uncle. He was a wonderful neighbor and Daddy Buckles to his daughters many friends. Barry was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Charlouise Buckles; and his brother, Bob Buckles. He is survived by his wife, Shawn of 28 years; daughter, Lauren Michelle Buckles and fiance Nathan Tyler Ohlman; sisters, Mary Chardell Andrews, Janis Buckles, and Leslie Connaghan; brothers, Brad and wife Monique Buckles, and Bill Buckles; and many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. Obituary: Phillip Monroe Buckler, 56, of Columbia, Missouri passed away 25, 2014. He was born 13, 1957, in Columbia, Missouri to Kenneth W. and Julia (Bennett) Buckler. He graduated from the University of Missouri- Columbia in 1980, with his bachelor’s degree in chemistry. On 8, 2001, he married Toni Stark, and she survives. Survivors also include his children: Alexandra Boucher (husband, Andrew), William Buckler, and Gracelyn Buckler; granddaughter: Emma Boucher; parents: Julia and Kenneth Buckler all of Columbia. Phillip was preceded in death by his sister, Deborah Ann Buckler, grandparents: Charles and Virginia Bennett and Wren and Hattie Buckler, and uncle, Noble Bennett. There will be a visitation from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm on , 2, 2014, at Broadway Christian Church, with funeral service to follow at 5:00 pm, , 3, 2014, also at Broadway Christian Church. Interment will follow at Memorial Park . Phillip enjoyed woodworking, fly fishing and showing horses. He was a fantastic cook and even better at barbecuing. As a Mizzou alumni, he supported the Tigers, but was also a fan of Hickman High School athletics, St. Louis Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs. He loved vacationing in Hawaii and planned to retire there. Phillip loved his family and cherished his children. He was a devoted husband, father, grandpa and son. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to The Gracelyn Monroe Le’i’a Buckler Fund, or to The Broadway Christian Church Music Scholarship Fund. |

Obituary: Laura Jane Buckler, 92, of Columbia, MO passed away , 23, 2017, at Provision Living in Columbia, MO. Visitation will be on , 28, 2017 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM at Memorial . service will follow on , 28, 2017 at 12:00 PM at the funeral home. Burial will be in Memorial Park . Jane was born on 17, 1925 in Boone , MO, the daughter of Warren Fielding and Letha Lee (Sims) Graves who preceded her in death. She was married on 26, 1945 to Wendell E. Buckler who preceded her in death on 15, 2010. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. Jane retired in 1992 from the University of Missouri as a secretary to the Chairman of the Department of Agricultural Economics. Jane was an active member of the Gideons Auxillary while Wendell was living and was known for her hand crafted table decorations. Jane’s creativity extended beyond table decorations to all kinds of needlecraft and she was instrumental in organizing the Ugly Quilters at Calvary, who made quilts for homeless people at Harbor House. Her quick wit and generous and loving spirit was extended to all she met and she loved and was loved by many. Survivors include: her two children, Becky Buckler of Columbia, MO and Kevin Buckler (Margrace) of Columbia, MO. She was also preceded in death by one grandson, Morgan Buckler, and three brothers, an infant, John Haynes Graves, and Chester Graves. |
