Obituary: James Frederick Jim Babcock, 81, of Kansas City, MO passed away on 22, 2016 at home surrounded by his family. He was born 18, 1934. He was the youngest of four children born to Lionel E. and Ruth M. Babcock. He met and married the love of his life, Margaret Ann Gentry, in 1956. were married for 59 years. He served our country as a solider in the Army after the Korean War. He retired from Kansas City Power and Light where he worked for 42 years. He was an avid fisherman and devoted Chiefs fan. He coached girls softball for ten years. He served on the board for Bel-Air Swim Club, South Suburban Junior Athletic Association and the Hickman Mills High school Booster Club. He was a wise, loving and generous man. His grandchildren, Bradley, Lucas, Abigail, Sydney and Armani were the light of his life. Jim was preceded in death by his mother and father, two brothers, Lionel E. Babcock and Bud Babcock, a sister, Dorothy Evans and his best friend of 60 years, Larry Riley. Survivors include his beloved wife, Margie Babcock, Darin (Valerie) Babcock, Renee (Michael) Graybill and David (Melissa) Riley as well as several nieces and nephews. A memorial visitation will be held at Mt. Moriah, Newcomer & Freeman , 10507 Holmes Rd, Kansas City, MO, on , 27, 2016, 10:00 am with memorial services following at 11:00am. |

He was born on 26, 1929 in Pollock, Missouri to Ora Lee and Elva (Wyant) Babbitt. Survivors include: His wife, Connie Babbitt of Chillicothe, Missouri, married 27, 1986 in Milan; two daughters, Pamala Babbitt of St. Joseph, Missouri and Susie Frazier (Tim) of Blue Springs, Missouri; a son, Gary Babbitt (Dr. Ivan Ferguson) of Gladstone, Missouri; a step daughter, Christina Busby (Richie) of Lawson, Missouri; two step sons, Christopher Parks (Shanin) of Princeton, Missouri and Doug Parks (Gina) of Smithville, Mo; a granddaughter, Kathryn Strohmeyer; step grandchildren, Casey Johnson, T.J. Busby (Heather), Brittney King (Chris), Rachelle Parks, Ella Parks, Ava Parks, Josie Parks, and Watson Parks; 6 great grandchildren; a sister, Mildred Storey of Kansas City, Mo., and a nephew, Doug Storey. He was preceded in death by: His parents; and late wife, Kathryn Loretta (Boner) Babbitt. Keith grew up on a farm near Pollock. He served with the United States Marines during the Korean War. He married Kathryn (Boner) Babbitt on 1, 1956, in Gladstone, Mo, and three children were born to this marriage: Pamala, Susie, and Gary, Kathryn passed away on of 1988. Keith worked construction in Kansas City, Mo until 1959 when he moved to Milan. He farmed until 1965 when he then went to work as a MFA tank wagon operator. He retired in of 1991. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Milan, American Legion Post #228, the Tanglefoot Squares Dance Club. He was the past president of the Belles and Beaus Square Dance Club in Unionville. Keith enjoyed woodworking, playing the mandolin and dulcimer. services for Keith will be held 11:00 AM, , 18, 2016, at Schoene-Ruschmeier in Milan. Burial will follow at Oakwood in Milan. A visitation is scheduled for one hour prior to the funeral, starting at 10:00 AM. Memorial contributions are suggested to the First Baptist Church in Milan. |

Obituary: Gladys Weatheread Babbitt completed her heavenly journey and was welcomed into the arms of her Lord Jesus on 17, 2016. Services are scheduled for 10:00 a.m. , Jan. 22nd at Bright-Holland with burial following in Hopewell . The family will receive friends from 6 – 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Gladys began her earthly journey on May 19, 1922, when she was born in Delta , Texas to Joel C. and Laura M. Weatheread. While in her early teen years she surrendered her life to Jesus, thus beginning her heavenly journey. Gladys never met a stranger. She was known by all for her quick wit, smile and the sound of her laughter. She loved her Lord and her family with her whole heart! She loved attending church and her passion was singing praises to the Lord. Mrs. Babbitt was preceded in death by her parents; husband C.L. Babbitt; one daughter, Jayne Aycott; one grandson, and eight siblings. She is survived by one brother, Olen J. (Bud) Weatheread; four daughters; Jean Gordon and husband Cliff, Ann Gordon, Kay Soule’, Trina Stevens and husband Curtis; one son, Randy Babbitt and wife Pam, as well as several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Casket bearers will be: Rodney D. Hood, William H. Knight, Clifton W. Gordon, Olen R. Weatheread, Tim Weathered and Thomas L. Babbitt. |
