Obituary: Of Jackson, MI, went home to be with his Lord , 7, 2017 at his home under the loving care of his family at the age of 86. Mr. Bitner was the son of Earl William and Martha A. (Friend) Bitner, born 22, 1930 in Jackson, MI. He is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Beverly Bitner; two sons, Dirk (Nan) Bitner, and Dale Bitner; six grandchildren, Lance, Angie, Brent, Ashley, Sawyer, and Brett; numerous great-grandchildren; brother, James (Wanda) Bitner; sister, Mary Robinson. Chuck was preceded in death by his daughter, Jeannie Bitner; daughter-in-law, Dawn Bitner, two sisters, Phyllis Bitner and Edna Bitner; two brothers, Richard and Eugene Bitner; brother-in-law, Robert Robertson. He was a Jackson High School graduate. Chuck served his country in the United States Army during WWII. He had a long career as a Jackson City Police Officer, retiring after 25 years of service with the Jackson City Police Department. He loved to bowl with the Guys and Dolls Bowling Team, and loved to play golf. According to his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions for those who wish, may be made to the charity of choice. |
