Obituary: Lloyd Baker, 84, of Nauvoo, formerly of Jasper, died , Oct. 13, 2014, at Walker Baptist Medical . services will be held at noon , Oct. 15 at Kilgore-Green with burial at Southern Heritage . Pastor Price will officiate. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to noon at the funeral home. He served the U.M.W.A. District 10 as Secretary Treasure and was also District President for 25 years. Baker attended the University of Alabama and played football for the University of Alabama before joining the Navy and serving our country during the Korean Conflict. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sylvia Baker; parents, Craig and Lizzie Baker; and brother, Loften Baker. He is survived by his daughters, Kathy Favors and Susan Stephenson (Tommy); son, Lloyd Baker Jr. (Yvonne); four grandchildren, Alison Arnold, Katrina Favors, Stone Stephenson and Diggy Baker; and three great-grandchildren, Brock Arnold, Tristan Arnold and Levi Arnold. |

Obituary: Baker, Mrs. Linda JoAnn, age 75 of Bayview, AL, went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on , 20th, 2016. She passed away peacefully with her family at her side. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edgar and Vesta Earnest; her husband, Louie C. Baker and two daughters, Sandra Joyce Hulsey and Martha Faye Baker. Obituary: Larry Moore Baker, 84, of McCalla, Alabama, passed away 6, 2014. He was born in Spokane, Washington to Forrest Sandusky Baker, Sr. and Marjorie Moore Baker. Larry graduated in 1948 from North Central High School in Spokane. He served in the U.S. Army from 1951-1953. Later, he received his BA and MA degrees from the University of Alabama, Tuscaloosa. Larry taught History, Government and Economics at McAdory High School for 30 years. Also taught at Walker , Ensley High School, and Rutledge School. Influenced many young lives and helped many people during the years. Larry was the loving husband of Gayle Smith for 58 years. In addition to Gayle, survivors include two daughters, Marjorie Gayle (Tiger) Baker and Suzanne Baker Burrow; one granddaughter, Kaitlyn Baker Burrow; special son-in-law, David R. Burrow; one brother, Forrest S. Baker, Jr. of Heyburn, Idaho; uncle, Robert W. Moore of McCalla; and many nieces and nephews. Special chosen daughters Cheryl Taranto and AnnaGray Griffin also survive Larry. There will be no funeral service. Private services will be held at a later date. Memorials may be sent to the AFMC Gayle Baker Scholarship Fund, 9627 Dortmund Drive, Huntsville, AL 35803-1113 or to the Salvation Army. Special thanks go to the MICU nurses at UAB Hospital, Birmingham for their compassionate care of Larry and his family. |
