Obituary: Natalie Marie Brown, 88, died 20, 2015. She was born in Boston, Ma., 14, 1927, a daughter of Arthur and Mary Foley Cerchione graduating from Medford High School. During WWII in 1945 while at Medford High School, with so many young men overseas, a special program allowed students with good grades to fore go the last semester of their senior year so they could go to work. Nat began her professional career with the John Hancock Insurance , where she stayed until early retirement was offered. Natalie loved music, especially Pavoratti and the Boston Pops. She sang for the Philharmonic Choral Group of Arlington, Ma. and the community chorus in Maine. Holidays were always important for Natalie. As a child growing up in Medford, Ma., she and her family always went to the North End for Christmas to be with their large extended Italian family. As an adult Natalie always had Thanksgiving, Christmas and Easter at her house, preparing large full course meals for her family and her sisters family year after year. As children, Natalie and her sister spent many wonderful summers on Peaks Island in the 1930s and 1940s. Peaks was a very special place for her. In the early 1970s, Nat and her husband Harold purchased a cottage on Peaks where they spent happy summers with family and friends. In the mid 80s shortly after her husbands passing, Nat sold the cottage and moved from Arlington, Ma. to North Deering to be closer to her sister on Peaks. She met a great new group of friends and together they became a great gang of friends. When her sister Barbara passed away, Nat adopted her sisters West Highland Terrier, Bonnie Doone. The dog gave Natalie great joy and love. As a child, Natalie and Lillian Semonian Scovel became life- long friends. This was a friendship that endured for seventy years. When the two of them were in a room together there would be unbridled, incontrollable laughter that was contagious. Natalie had always been the care giver for everyone in her family. Her husband, Harold Brown, passed away over 30 years ago and was also predeceased by her sister, Barbara Goelman. She leaves a nephew, Arthur B. Goelman of Peaks Island and cousins Jackie and Patricia. A time of visitation will be held , 28 from 4-6 PM at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins , 199 Woodford St., Portland. A funeral will be held on at 11am from the funeral home. The Rev. Philip Shearman will officiate. Burial will follow in Mt. Pleasant , So. Portland. Obituary: SCARBOROUGH Nancy Lee Brown of Cape Elizabeth died on 2, 2015 surrounded by loving family members. Nancy was born in Portland on 18, 1924 to Gladys and Arthur Schroeder. She attended Nathan Clifford Elementary, Lincoln Junior High, and graduated from Deering High School in 1942. She attended Grays Business School, was an assistant buyer for Porteous, Mitchell & Braun, and served on the cafeteria staff at Cape Elizabeth schools. In her youth Nancy enjoyed summers with her late cousin Barbara Eells and the Robinsons at Sebago Lake, and attended Williston Church with family including her beloved grandmother Julia Robinson. Nancy married Philip T. Brown Jr. in 1948 and they raised their family in Cape Elizabeth. Nancy was a longtime member of the Cape Elizabeth United Methodist Church where she attended faithfully. She enjoyed flowers, gardening, birds, crossword puzzles, reading, cooking a variety of foods, music, anything the color blue, the Maine seacoast, and spending time with family. She was a wonderful Nana to her grandchildren and was very generous to her family and to those in need. She is survived by daughter Julie Carmichael of Cumberland Foreside, daughter Diana Lee Brown of Cape Elizabeth, son Jeffrey Brown and wife Kathleen Davis of Carrboro, NC, granddaughter Susan Richards and husband William of Durham, NC, grandson Brian Carmichael and wife Allison of Westbrook, granddaughter Eleanor Brown of Plano, Texas, and great grandson Liam Richards of Durham, NC. She was predeceased by her husband, Philip T. Brown, Jr. of Cape Elizabeth in 1993. A memorial service celebrating Nancys life will be held at 1:00 PM on Oct.7, 2015 at the United Methodist Church, 280 Ocean House Road, Cape Elizabeth, conducted by the Reverend Ruth Morrison. Obituary: OLD TOWN-Clinton A, Clint Brown, 48, a wonderful husband, father, son, brother, grandson, uncle, nephew, brother-in-law, son-in-law, friend, and soldier passed away peacefully and entered into Heaven on 10, 2011 at his residence in Old Town with his loved ones by his side after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born on 5, 1963, in Bangor, a son of Philip W. and Ginger A. (Perkins) Brown. He grew up in Stillwater and graduated from Old Town High School in 1982. Proud and motivated to serve his country he enlisted in the US Air Force in 1984 where he attended Basic Military Training at Lackland AFB, Texas. He attended technical training for Power Production at Sheppard AFB, Texas. Upon graduation he was stationed at Loring AFB, ME from 1985 through 1987. He was then stationed at Kun Song AFB Korea, from 1987 through of 1988. He was transferred to Reese AFB, Texas in 1988 through 1990, where he was deployed to Saudi Arabia in 1989 to assist with closing a bed down and Panama in 1989. He separated in of 1990 and then reenlisted of 1990 into the Maine Air National Guard. He attended utilities technical training at Sheppard AFB, Texas, in of 1991, where he graduated as an Honor Graduate. Clinton was deployed to Kirkuk, Iraq in 2005. He had three deployments to Yuma, AZ during 2006, 2007 and 2008 for Operation Jump Start; during the deployment in 2007 he was sent to New Mexico for Operation Mexican Border Fence. Sather AFB, Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom from of 2009 through 2010. Clint was also employed with Brinks and Loomis for the past twenty years. Clint enjoyed the outdoors and being with family and friends going atv-ing, boating, fishing and hunting in the great Maine woods. He enjoyed time spent at the family camps in Haynesville and Bradley. He cherished life and never took anything for granted and took every day as being precious. He loved his wife Greta and daughter Briana more than words could ever say and his world evolved around them. A caring man who would help a friend in need, he will always be loved by his family and many friends. Gone too soon and missed so much. Clint is survived by his loving wife Greta, (Neptune) Brown, his precious daughter Briana Brooklyn Brown, stepson Sterling Neptune of Old Town, his parents Philip and Ginger Brown of Stillwater, mother in law Doreen Neptune of Indian Island, two sisters: Melissa Jordan and husband Bob of Stillwater and Jennifer (Brown) Mullins of Barboursville, VA, sister in law Onawa Hoffman and husband Kyle of Indian Island, brother in law Gary Neptune of Indian Island, maternal grandmother Dorothy Chaison and Ellen Perkins both of Stillwater, his aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many friends. He was predeceased by his fraternal grandparents Ara and Jennie Brown, his maternal grandfather Leo Perkins, his uncles Carroll Cappy Brown and Allan Brown. Clint will also be missed by his lifelong friends Herbie Buck, Louie Doucette, Dave Nadeau, James Sappier, James Smith, Phil Vellieux, Jon Lee and Tony Damboise. He was also very fond of his Air National Guard military family and was honored to have served with them. Clint appreciated the love and support he received from them throughout his illness. Clints family would like to extend their thanks and gratitude to Cancer of Maine, the 6th floor nurses at EMMC and Hospice of Eastern Maine, Bangor Area Visiting Nurses, the Air National Guard and special neighbor Rod OKeefe for all the care and support he received. Friends may call 4-8 PM at the Birmingham 438 Main Street Old Town. A celebration of Clints life will be conducted 10 AM 16, 2011 at the Old Town United Methodist Church, Stillwater Ave, Old Town. Burial with full military honors will follow at Lawndale , Old Town. Immediately following services at the gravesite, all are invited to the VFW Post #3381 on Water Street for a memorial luncheon. Obituary: Mildred Evelyn Brown, age 91 passed away 3, 2011. She was born in Methuen, MA 21, 1919 the daughter of Arthur E. and Clara P. (Averill) Law, SR. She graduated from Woodbury High School, Salem, New Hampshire Class of 1937, and then graduated as an RN from Lawrence General Hospital, Lawrence, MA. Mildred was married to Emery B. Brown in 1943. Besides her parents, Mildred was predeceased by her Husband Emery B. Brown in 1976, her son Donald W. Brown in 2006 and her four siblings, Arthur E. Law, Jr. Warren H. Law, Milton W. Law and Marilyn C. Law. She is survived by her son Douglas B. Brown of Cumberland, ME; her daughter Diane B. Hansen and her husband Keith Hansen of Cumberland, ME, her Sister, Eleanor M. Johnston of Allenstown, NH and her eight grandchildren, Christina Bayley of Biddeford, Jeffrey Brown of Saco, Michael Brown, Jason Brown, Kimberly Stewart, Julie Kirby, Scott Brown and Zachary Hansen all of Cumberland. Also surviving are ten great grandchildren. Mildred was an active member for many years at the North Deering Congregational Church of Portland and she had also volunteered for the American Red Cross. Mildred was a dedicated mother, grandmother and great grandmother who was an inspiration to her family. Her love, patience, understanding and support made a difference in everyones life and made her family who they are today. A time of visitation for friends and relatives will be held on Jan. 7, 2011 from 4:00 to 7:00 PM at the Jones, Rich & Hutchins , Portland. The funeral service will be held on Jan. 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM at the North Deering Congregational Church with the Rev. Mark Rustin officiating. A reception will follow the service in the church fellowship hall. Graveside committal services and interment will take place at a later date at the Blanchard , Falmouth.
