Obituary: Sister Ursula Binnette, O.S.U. Waterville - Ursula Louise Binnette, 87, also known for a time as Sister Carolyn of the Sacred Heart, died peacefully at DYouville Pavilion in Lewiston, Maine, on 1, 2016. Sister Ursula died in the company of her Ursuline Sisters, having had a lovely visit with family only a short time before her death. Born on 14, 1928, to Joseph E. Binnette and Henrietta Sirois Binnette in Old Town, Maine, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles Binnette, and her two sisters, Madelyn Binnette Chapman and Carolyn Binnette Roe. She is survived by two sisters: Barnardine Binnette Alward and Marie Binnette Valley. Sister Ursula, who returned to her baptismal name later in life, grew up in Old Town, Maine, where she attended St. Joseph Elementary School. Her high school education took place at Mount Merici Academy in Waterville, Maine, where she was a boarder. In of 1945, she entered the Ursuline Novitiate, and was sent to Beaugency, France, for training, making her vows as an Ursuline Sister on 15, 1948, in Beaugency. Sister Ursula pursued higher education at the of New Rochelle in New York, Bowdoin , Boston , Providence in Rhode Island, SUNY, New York, and a TUFTS program; she received a Bachelors degree, two Masters degrees, and certification in Greek. She was known as a superb teacher of all twelve grades and especially for classic languages, teaching in Waterville and Lewiston, Maine; as well as Ursuline Academy in Springfield and Dedham, Massachusetts, and New Rochelle, New York. Her students remember her for the wonderful trips she led to Italy and Greece. A time of gathering will be held from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM at 1 Saint Angela Way in Waterville on 11, 2016 followed directly by a Mass of Resurrection in celebration of her life in the Ursuline Chapel there. She will be buried in the Ursuline also at 1 St. Angela Way later this spring. Obituary: a - Victoria L. Binkley, 58, died 9, 2010 at a Maine General Hospital. She was born on 22, 1951, in Glendale W.Va. the daughter of Theodore and Roberta (Oliver) Brookover. She attended High School in Georgia and graduated from the University of Maine a. Victoria loved spending time with family and friends, especially her dog Lilo. She also known for her wonderful cooking, for being a Reiki Master, and being the leader and teacher to many groups and many people. She had a love for music, art, and life. Obituary: Irene C.Lisbon - Irene C. Bingelis, age 61, 0f 3 Elmwood Drive in Lisbon, died early morning 23rd at The Hospice House with her loving family by her side. She was born in Lewiston 2, 1949, the daughter of Ida and Alphonse Derosier. Irene attended Lewiston schools and worked as a Nurses Aid in the Lewiston area. She was married to Mark J. Bingelis on 2, 1967 and together they had two children. Irene was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the American Legion Post 135 and the Red Hatters Club. Among her favorite enjoyments were playing Bingo, knitting and reading novels written by Danielle Steel. Irene also loved spending time at the ocean and enjoyed visiting Lands End at Baileys Island. But most of all, she loved spending quality times with her family, children and grandchildren. She was loving, devoted and hard working wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. Irene leaves her companion Richard Dubois of Lisbon; two sons Mark D. Bingelis and his wife Heather of Sabattus and Richard Bingelis and his wife Nicole of Lewiston; four grandchildren Eli Ward, Courtney Brooks, Kaitlyn Vye and Emily Bingelis; two sisters Connie Harvey and husband Al of Lewiston and Paulette Lee and husband Bill of Sabattus; two brothers Alphonse Derosier Jr. of Auburn and Paul Derosier of Sabattus and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her parents Ida and Alphonse Derosier. Obituary: Auburn - Lucia A. Binette 93, of Lewiston was in peace with Jesus on May 2, 2015. She passed away peacefully amongst family members at Androscoggin Hospice House after a brief illness. Lucia was born in New Brunswick, Canada on 31, 1921 and was raised in Eagle Lake, Maine from her infancy to her late teens moving to Lewiston. She was the daughter of Germain & Cecile Dube Saucier. settling with siblings she went to work in local footwear manufacturing. She then met the love of her life, Albert R. Binette and they were married 22, 1941 and were together until his passing in , 2000. She also had spent the last several years of her employment life with Bates . raised two children who survive her, Constance of Lewiston and Donald of Durham. Lucia remained in the same house that she and Albert built for over 61 years. Although they never had grandchildren, she and Albert were blessed with dozens of nieces and nephews, and an innumerable amount of grand nieces and nephews of whom she always expressed a great love for. Having come from a large family and living to the age of 93, she outlived most of her siblings. She is also survived by a sister Regina y of Auburn, a brother, Theo Saucier of Presque Isle, a brother-in-law , Leo Binette of Auburn and special friend Hazel Binette also of Auburn. Lucia was predeceased by brothers Olivier, Francois, Fred, Elias, Camille and sisters Olivia, Leona and Gloria and all their spouses. Although she loved all those nieces and nephews equally, she did want to express a special mention to her three godchildren, Rita Dube, Gail L. McGray and Albert R. Parent. A special shout of thanks to grand niece Tina and her children Savanna and Bret for all they've done for mom over the last few months. In her final days Lucia was able to answer many questions about her life and probably the most important question was "Do you believe that Jesus is your Savior ? ... Her whispered response was "most definitely". Lucia is now truly at peace with the Lord and is truly reunited with Albert. She was a greatly loved lady, evidenced by all the visitors she received in her latter days. We love you Mom and thank you for everything. We'd like to thank the staffs of St. Mary's Unit 2-C and at Hospice House for their outstanding service and care.
